Seyberts exorbitant shipping charges?

Was going to buy a few small items from seyberts and was astounded buy the shipping charges. The cheapest shipping option cost more than everything else. Is this normal? Do they really try to push the $99+ free shipping deal or what?

Hard to buy small items from these sellers when you can get free shipping on the same items with Amazon prime or Amazon purchases that total $25 or so. Also many eBay sellers are now going with free shipping.

Where it is shipping to? Remember, Trump tariff and also the shipping cost went sky high.

I usually shipped my cue with ups Canada, for a value 50$ i still have to pay 30% tax on tariff. So be careful.

Looks like next day air to Alaska

It may not be any consolation but at least you can get a package shipped to you next day air , that's just a dream in Montana !
No matter going in to or out of the state it won't be happening ! No matter hom, much you spend !

Honestly that’s the ups rate. If he uses pirate ship, it’ll be 1/3 of that price. Anyhow good luck with asking him to change the way his shipping.
Also he might put the insurance value on the shipping. Usually big websites would do that, to protect their customers and their business.

Same in AK, I picked up an overdue package at the post office in Anchorage I had mailed from the lower 48, had a short conversation with the guy behind the counter about next day air. He says I don't care what they tell you where you mailed it or how much you paid, next day air on our end means it gets here when it gets here.

Seyberts clearly don't want to deal with small orders.

I can understand why, as the profit on those orders is tiny, and as it worth the hassle?

I will always use Seyberts to buy my big ticket items, but will go elsewhere for smaller items.

I'm guessing you already know this, but even if you select next day air, (I found out the hard way) that is next day to you WHEN they get the package to shipping. Thought with the high price they would expedite handling and shipping, but they didn't.

I was trying to buy a part from a supplier 21.95 but a minimum 85.00 order. Product was not available for less then the 85.00 minimum. So I said well quote me 6 of them with shipping.
6 × 21.95
Shipping 39.97

These 6 parts stacked 1 on top the other are about the size of 2 pool balls and probably weigh the same.

with so much ordering on line there is competition for space on planes and trucks. and inflation of costs and wages.
shipping costs directly get affected by it.
get used to it. the sellers cant subsidize it for smaller orders anymore.

but unless you are in a dead end job your wages, profits, or investments have been going up faster.
and if in a dead end job you have to improve your lot or inflation destroys your future.
