I have one of Mike's new J/B shafts. It has the slickest feel I've ever used. I use it quite a bit, and I haven't noticed any need to clean the shaft (backing up Mike's claim that chalk and dirt doesn't get into the wood).

I am certainly interested in getting my existing shafts treated. Will this be a service you offer Mike?

My web site is being changed concerning the shipping price. I am going to offer a 2 day air return shipping charge for $20.00. Ground would be cheaper but I do not care for all the time in a truck. I can do the ground if the transaction is called in to me at 864-458-7662.

APA Event, Sandusky, Ohio- 7th through the 9th

I will be in Sandusky, Ohio at Ann's APA event this weekend at the Comfort Inn and Suites at the corner of Route 2 and Route 250, November 7th to the 9th. Shaft freeze is a new product made by Axon in Greenville, S.C. This company makes finishing products for Commercial Airlines. I have been using their product for several years to finish my cues. Together we have developed this new shaft coating called "Shaft Freeze". This new material is a final step in the process of shafts. It will enhance the stability of shaft wood that is ready to finish for cue sticks. It stabilizes shaft wood better than any product I have ever used in making cues. Shaft yield will increase dramatically for cue makers. Shaft Freeze will keep out dirt and chalk, make the outside of the shaft surface many times harder to help stop dings, will not change the harmonics of the shaft, with not ever come off unless removed with an abrasive, is as slick as as ice and is available as early as nest week. This product will replace costly cleanings and preserve shafts looking good and feeling great. I most likely will have Shaft Freeze at the US Open for sale on the 24th at my booth.

FWIW, I have a Sledgehammer shaft that came coated with this stuff. It's pretty much stain free, and except for dents looks like it was 6 years ago.

Mike is still applying Shaft Freeze to all his shafts. I just had him make me a shaft in the last month. I love the stuff.
