As of today before the finals TAR has only 33 buyers. Where are all you guys who say TAR is great!!!!???
If we dont support them they might disappear. There was some great matches today. Shane vs Montel, Luat vs Gabe, and now Luat vs Montel. Take your $15 and give them your money. Is it much to ask. Dont be a freeloader and just watch the free stuff. Support these guys, now!!!!!!! Dont be a nit!!!!!

Well they need to make it to tv somehow because I guarantee I'm at a poolhall more than by a computer (except at work)

Unfortunately the nits far outweigh the others, but in everyones defense it is the middle of the day and everyone can't watch while at work. Fortunately, I can.

give me a break. when it was free there was over a hundred. 33 is nothing to cover costs.
If you got a job surely you can donate the $15. Especially if you got cues that are worth a couple of grand

I haven't bought any of the pay per views but I have 4 dvds coming from them instead. I'm sure I'll buy more dvds and maybe a shirt later, but signing up for something I can't watch all the way through doesn't work for me.

I couldn't watch much of the free feed this time, but I did buy the PPV :) and it is worth every penny!!

I don't agree with bashing people for watching something free and not buying the PPV because we don't know their situation. I know you guys don't care but it is how I feel about it.

Free or for a fee isn't what made the difference. The difference is that people do work during the day sooooo the best time for pool (IMO) is in the evening when work is done.

Could the video be made and then broadcast in the evening?

I also have to agree with the comment about viewing on a PC monitor. This of course is not very good when compared to a full size flat screen TV.

Just ordered a DVD from them. I hope they can make this work. They need to find a way to get some sponsors.

No one is bashing anyone. Look at what TAR provides. 6 free days. One payment of $15 is not to much to ask from most people. Its a Movie and popcorn. Its two 6 packs. Its a carton of cigarettes, its one lap dance, its one and a half hour of pool. As a pool community we got to show more support for people like TAR. Today there was less than 40 purchases. There were more than a hundred on the free days. We just got to do better.
Its not if you could spend the whole day on your computer. Its showing support for guys who are fighting for us. If we dont do our part how can we expect they to do theirs.

Exactly. I'm sure there are some like me who may or may not have time to watch at work, and don't want to pay for it with the uncertainty of whether they'll be able to watch. I know for a fact right now I can't watch at work because I've got too many things to do and not enough time to do them, so there is really no time for anything other than work and occasionally checking my email.

There might also be others like me who just do not care for the game on the bar table. I'm not saying it doesn't take skill, I'm merely saying I much prefer to watch big table action. So there is that to consider as well.

Well, I'm not sure that "shame on you" was the most positive way to lead off your plea for support.

Sure, it's frustrating but almost everything about pro pool matches is frustrating.

How many times have you watched world champions in matches where there were clearly less than 50 people in the stands...even at BCA Vegas tournaments when there are thousands of ACTIVE pool players in the building?

The obvious fundamental is that very, very few people in America care to spend their time and MONEY watching pool matches.

In a free market economy, it is up to the product/service provider to recognize meaningful demand and then present themselves to the market in a way that would encourage people to spend their money.

Say what you will, but daytime, weekday broadcasts would require the vast majority of the potential audience to sneek around at their workplaces trying to watch what they can while the boss isn't looking.

For free...people will "tune in" when they can but for money, they won't.

Pretty obvious really and not the least bit shameful.

Bottom line...not many care to watch. Even "majors" FINALS, like the BCA only draw a half million households across the entire U.S. population and the pool forums that TAR primarily markets through have a tiny audience compared to the whole population.

IMHO, their business model should be building a DVD library. Accu-Stats can't be everywhere. And the live feeds would be a "loss leader" marketing tool to build awareness of the library.

Just my $0.02.

Regards,
Jim

Look here is my thoughts on this...

I am not backing the freeloaders ALTHO I am guilty of doing this.

I really wish everyone would donate that little bit of cash to TAR....They are not asking for your wife, dog, and house......... These guys bust their ass to make who happy??? US!!!!! To bring pool to us Pool lovers who cant be at that certain event or action spot or whatever.......... They dont ask for much... They are not selfish one bit........ They are helping us!!!! They could be asses and NOT produce ANY DVD's on the event or match and jsut say " oh well you shoulda got the PPV..... but no.......They give us live feeds and charge a small amount and then a couple months later come out with the DVD.... It is not free to travel, lodge, and setup there equipment to provide US fans with damn good Pool Entertainment........To be able to chat with Pros and ask them questions!!

I give the TAR crew 10 kinds of kudos for what they do.......We all should.........They also back up there word on making the customer happy... I for one know this...

Now we get to the ones who cry wolf bout freeloaders... please understand the circumstances with some individuals on getting the PPV...

1. Dont really have the money to donate out due to a strict budget *IE* ME
2. Their boss wont exactly let them sit there a twork all day to watch pool and most dont have PC access TO watch...
3. Some jsut dont have the funds in their paypal account at that given time even tho the Matches or events are announce in due time....
4. Some do not want to pay the asking amount cause they wont be able to watch all of the event or match and in turn they will get the DVD which IMO is still good!!

As I said I am not backing some of the freeloaders nor trying to make excuses......There is just some things you really need to think about before trying to put folks on the spot bout not giving the little bit asked...

I never see the guys from TAR coming on here *****ing about freeloaders......What obligates some of you to do it.........

Food for thought....

Ok now I can get back to my coffee!!!

I ordered and PAID for a DVD, never got it.

Hows that for a donation?? lol

Russ.......

I can ASSURE you if you PM the TAR guys about your situation they will take care of you....... These guys are really top notch on customer service and I truely speak this of experience!!!!

I am not putting regular folks on the spot. But folks who post on AZ Billiards forum who continually comment on the state about the billiard industry. Who complain about Kevin Trudeau, about Don Mackee, about a Jay Helfert Event, about why the indutry is in such a state its in. It is going to take commitment to improve it. And the guys from TAR is doing an extraordinary thing.

We cant complain about the prize money in other sports like golf if we cant support a $15 12 hour PPV. Golf people spend thousands to be on the same course as their pros, football and basketball fans spend thousands of dollars on tickets to their events. They are proud of that fact. Im saying that on the free days there are 4 times the amount of people on the PPV day. JCIN told me there were 33 paid people on that day. That is a SHAME. I for one am tired of hearing pool people who have all kinds of criticism of why pool is not considered a top rate sport and yet dont want to make the financial commitment to support it. I am not talking to Katrina victims. Im not asking them but for those that go to a pool hall every day and lay down $30 or $40 to think of their priorities and what is going to support their passions. THose guys who think nothing of buying that $1200 cue for their COLLECTION.

THis event took a lot of work. Big Nasty drove all the way from South Dakota carrying the equipment. JUstin flew in early to set it up. Hotel and food had to be paid for. You cant just reap the rewards and not help sow the field. I would feel SHAME if I did that.

The guys from TAR would never come on here and ***** and neither would Mark Griffin. THey have too much class. But someone needs to make it known that they need our utmost support.

Well it was the middle of the week, I think this weekend "TAR" will have a better market for the VIEWER, and like some have said, they show support by buying the DVD's and shirts, which I fully intend to purchase..(like Friday)..so Heads Up to Tar, good job, just hang in there, ......its all good!:D
