Shane calls Efren out at the DCC

Ask yourself this.... If Efren and Shane both broke equally, Who would you empty out on without thinking twice? Enough said.. Window is open.... I'm taking Efren... :D

Are you really asking? lol..

If I had to guess, that would have been my answer fwiw, but I sure as hell would not have been sure of it.

Now I gotta figure out why this would even be a consideration, much less folded into a big bet between big dawgs. Why care? (and yes I'm really asking lol). Who has the outside the box advantage?

Dam the learning curve is steep OFF the table too.

You have much to learn my friend.... LOL.. Breaking from the side in 9 ball is a huge factor for making the head ball in the side pocket.. I myself prefer breaking from the box in 10 ball though...

Efren I would have a better advantage breaking from the side rail. It gives more stability to break harder. We all know Shane outbreaks Efren in 10 ball.

Good point. I just see Efren coming up dry on the break more often than Shane.

Efren does have a very weak break.. That's his only weakness besides age.. Speaking of age.. Caesar Morales ring any bells? hehe.. Think I spelled that right.. Could you imagine running into him and all he can say is... " I no a speaka english, Bet $100 a game" As he gives his half a grin.. hahaa...

When Corey Deuel was younger he asked Grady Mathews what should he do to become better. Grady said go get a $1000 and play Efren some one pocket for a 100 a game. That way youll learn something.
I think this is what Shane wants to do. Its not calling anyone out. He wants to learn from the best. In this way he is very honest about his game. He wanted to learn to play one pocket and played Cliff. Now he wants the same from Scott Frost. He doesnt care if he loses he says but knows thats the only way to learn. He has a good head on his shoulders.
What better way to learn than from the Master himself. Dont forget Jose took Shane to the hill in Reno. After watching Efren practicing 9 ball with Brian Gregg yesterday I can tell you the Old Master is still running racks beautifully and would be hard to bet against. I think the real test for Shane is to play Efren Rotation. I think besides being the best one pocket player in the world his Rotation game is even better.
Efren has shots in his armory that people have never thought of before. Watching him practice Rotation on the first day was better than watching any of the 9 ball in the Action room as there was a large crowd watching quietly just shaking their heads in amazement

People keep saying Efren has a weak break. Thats because the other parts of his game is so strong. How do you think he won all those tournaments with his "weak" break? As far as being old dont forget he just recently put a whooping to Young Ronnie Alcano in Rotation. If you think you dont need a break for that game try it sometime.

Please read all my posts before you think I'm trying to put Efren down.. And yes, Efren does have a "weaker" break than a lot of players.. And age does matter when he gets into a long session.. I would still empty out on him.. That's the only person you will never ever catch me betting against..

Alt. breaks I would take Reyes...winner breaks I'd take SVB in 9 or 10-ball at this point. Johnnyt

I say if Reyes gets wind of it he sigs Busta on him. I'll take Busta in 9-ball...toss-up in 10-ball IMO. Johnnyt

When I said calling out, I simply meant that he said his name on a public forum to play for money. So yeah thats how he called him out. Unless you have another definition. I guess you have to have efren's back though, I mean you did run up to have your picture taken with him, so your qualified.

Its kinda like"Play you for five hundred!!!...............................BUt Not Tonight!!

I never said you put him down but your definition of his break is wrong. It is not strong as many others but it aint weak. As long as he pockets a ball on the break and gets shape on the one thats strong. I know a kid who lives in SoCal who shakes up the room with the sound of his breaks but Efren still could give him the 6 out.

If I was Efren I would agree to some 10 ball if Shane agrees to some one pocket. I wonder what Shane's response would be.

Efren and Shane

That's how he called Efren out?

I listened to the interview with Shane and he specifically said that he wanted to build his bank roll so he could play Efren. He said "That's how you get better" He clearly understands who Efren is and the risk. Would be a great match, but Shane showed no disrespect or was talking smack. He just wants to put himself in a position to play a graet player. A great match either way.
