Dang that freaking sucks man... Alex beat him 7-5 good job to both.

I think TP just lost $150, sorry man I would have placed my money on Shane as well.

sounded like a great match they both deserved it...but im happy alex won..shane is an awesome player though

Shane's break was killing him, seems like he kept loosing control of the rock, congrats to Alex.

I really do not get why they have to shorten the race for TV??...couldn't they just edit it down later? Just seems silly for guys of this level.

Despite Shane's loss, what really is amazing is his consistency! To make the finals of 3 major events in a row is just crazy good and he is still just a youngin!

Thats what I was thinking! To do that in pool is very amazing. He has to be the man to beat right now. He is on fire. I'd think he would be considered the toughest draw in the next event... for sure...

Ehh lesson learned for now. Filipino+Gambling = Don't bet against Filipino. :D I am still up around $45 for this trny though. ;)

did shane get beat or did he lose because of mistakes? both are awesome players, i think shane will be the guy to beat in a few more years, he has a gift, Alex is just as awesome, damn i wish God would have given me 10% of the talent they both have.

alternating breaks on a short set with 2 players like them is a coin flip, i'd like to see them play 10 ahead for 10 dimes, winner breaks, express rules on a tight table. I looked cloesly at the tables they played on after the tournment a couple nights ago-the pockets had a very short shelf, it is impossible to hide a ball in those pockets and they were wide too. But I dont own ESPN so we will just have to deal with their idea of pool, note i said idea not knowlege, and they must have hearing problems too because i'm sure they have been told more than once that their format blows.

Shane scratched on the break twice. One led to him being 3-fouled when they were at 5-5 and so that put Alex on the hill. Shane was down 4-1 at one point. He definitely made a match out of it.

Oh believe me it hurt to see it go, but BigNasty and I were in it 50-50. I actually lost 75 on that match.

O, well thats not too bad. I guess it goes to saying, you have to spend money to make money right? And I am NOT talking about Las Vegas! :p

It made sweating the final match way more intense. Well worth it. ;)

Did you atually get to see it on ESPN or did you see it through hitting the refresh button one hundren times on the action report....like me..

Anywho, I propose they move all professional pool to public television! That way everyone can watch, including me.:)

There is a Hooker in Vegas who would disagree.

I couldn't agree more! For the finals in a big tournament, a single race to 7 is ridiculous. Why don't they just flip a coin? That way there'd be more time for commercials... The TV network could easily edit down, say, a race to 11; then show the final 5-6 racks if it was close.

Still, since we got pool on TV, I suppose everyone is happy, except for Shane, his fans, and pool fans who have been following the tournament from the beginning.
