Shane Van Boening v Ko Pin Yi CSI Invitational-July 17) 10ball Race to 21

I am not suprised at all that they both missed some easy shots. some seem forget about what they are playing for : "pride", in this kind of match money is nothing. The whole pool world was debating about this match-up in the last few years, the whole pool world were watching the match, both players knew it, and both wanted to prove that he's the best. The pressure there was definitely unbelievable.
KO was the better player IN THIS MATCH.
it doesn't prove that Ko is better than Shane. Well maybe under pressure.
but it does prove that Shane is not the 10 ball pool god like many shane fanboys thought, but noone can deny the fact he's one of the best.

And please stop talking non-sense about "IF" Shane played his high gear bla bla, everything after the IF is an excuse. you will have the exact same tight match in another way IF both player play their best game.

Watch out for KO little brother, last time he was here he put on a 7 or 8 pack playing 10 ball. lets see what he can do this time :p.
 
what was the pocket size? maybe they mentioned it in beginning where i had my sound off at work.

Good thing the race wasn't longer. The way shane was shooting and the way Ko's break was starting to work, shane could've been down over 10 games.

I didn't hear them say specifically, but if I had to wager based on past experience with TAR/CSI events they would be 4 and 1/2" pro-cut pockets. The table was playing a bit easier with balls sliding down the rails and whatnot because it was brad new with new cloth and hasn't been broken in yet.
 
Exactly Jay, KO is the Asian SVB. When you have the two best players it's anyone's game. Ok won this time but out of 10 sets it would be 5-5. When they play it's just a matter of who gets the luckiest because skillwise they're equals.

Dennis Orcullo ( he is the best, even Shane said that )
SVB - Mika - Big Ko - Chang - Darren - Thorsten - Wu Jia Quing - Alex...
Little Ko - Kevin Cheng - lee van
Kiamco - busti ( just because he's not in a good form atm ) - Efren,... and other pros

lol its realy embarrissing how SVB groupies just do not give nay credit elsewhere. I just read ah well it was too 21 shane dominates in the shorter races :O lmao

typically all i hear when svb loses or shanks in the mosconi and otehr world events is well its 9 ball its stupid its short race anyone can win put up the cash and play 10 ball svb dominates any race over 11 lmao well they played to 21 in the usa and svb game 10 ball and ko couldnt get a break on the 1 ball on his breaks and still won.

so lets hear it...was the temperature in teh room too warm for svb? he didnt have his pink shirt? glove was too small? whats the deal this time....

Not to mention he had the lead and spit the like a cheap claimer in a stakes race and Ko won with his C game ,, one thing is for sure he ain't scared and his backers aren't either

Almost missed this match... it was enjoyable but I felt like Shane lost his focus a little at the end. I can't believe he scratched straight in the side on his last break. His 10b break usually rebounds too far back for that to be a risk. I don't know if he was being more careful and dialed it down a little, or not careful enough. He had several that flirted with that pocket.

Ko's breaks seemed to go straight back more and I think he was being more careful.
His break mechanics are much like Shane's but a couple of mph slower. Less risk of scratch, but at he same time he had several that looked textbook and made nothing.

In the first 3 racks shane's runouts were dead nuts perfect. I almost tuned out once Shane got a little lead, he looked like his usual unbeatable self. But KPY was not fazed and fired back. Then Shane's famous break deserted him. I'm curious what the pool-trax statistics will show. It definitely wasn't like the match with Nikos.

i guess race to 21 is too short...they will say make it race to 100 and play for more $$$$. :thumbup:
