Finished 3rd in Reno 9-Ball. Does anyone know any info on this guy?? Thanks.
Started playing pool at 2 years old. The first time he picked up a cue(on a minature table ) he made a perfict bridge and stance, Just by observing me playing day after day. At 9, he was shooting trick shots on my engagements. My wife and I trook him to a couple trade shows In Kansas City he played a number of chalenge matches. One in Particular was
with Mike Segal who took Shane over to Danny Janes booth (Joss
East) and suggested that Danny sjould have Shane shooting with one of his
cue. A few months later around Xmass Shane recieved a beautifull cue with
Shane spelled out in the points which he still uses along with his Keiko.
He is, without a doubt, one of the most commited pool players I
Can recall and his hearing loss is obviously an asset as he has been consistantly winning tournaments .
Its most refreshing to see a young man who is humble and handles himself like a gentleman, win or lose. I'm very proud of him ,and why not

I heard he beat T-Rex in a ten ahead for big money in 14 games. When he's on his game, he plays as well as anyone. I don't think Bruce in GA would like the action- he plays great but this kid seems to have that top gear only a few possess.

Everyone I've heard talk about him says he's a class act and likeable kid.

I watched Shane play at the SML Open and was pretty impressed, he was a very composed and focused player. I would still throw my money down on Edwin if they ever matched up for the cash.

So, How bout it ...

How old is he? and how about a picture of him (so I will know who to avoid
when he comes through my town .... lol)

I know some down Tulsa & OKC way that would play him ... Like Waldon, Gabe Owen, and Shane McMinn ...

i think he is 21 and there is a picture on some site i remember but that will be up to him to post it if he wants lol

Thats one thing I was thinking, I can definately see where being hearing impaired would be nothing but a bonus in pool and let you focus more on the game. No click from the balls or the cue, no music, no waitress asking someone behind you if they want a drink, just you and the table and complete silence.

Do you play at Tom Mc's Marble Club in Rapid City? I haven't talked to Tom in several months but he said he would be coming my way to visit and I am hoping to be able to return the visit. One of my sons had a hearing problem - -- seemed to make him more competitive in sports -- could read coach's lips!!

When Shane is in Rapid City the Marble club is where he likes to play as they have Connelly ultimate 9 footers with real tight pockets. Unfortunately,
I think the Marble Club is shut down. Havent talked to Tom lately and I hope
its temporary situation. Being an ex-pool hall proprietor for many years
myself, I know how slow it can be in the summer. "Tom areal cool guy "

Shane is a great kid. Pool is in his blood. He comes from a pool family. His grandparents, his mother/father, his aunts/uncles are all decent too very good players. When Shane was born he had a hearing defect, it took a few years for technology to catch up to him so he in effect was deaf in his formative years. He now has special hearing aids but he does have a small lingering speech deflect because of those early years of deafness.
Shane is for real, he is fearless on the boxes, and he plays with great focus (I think he can turn his hearing aids off and just blockout & by the way he can read lips...LOL) If anyone of you would have the opportunity to be around this fine young man you would have to like him; even if he just busted you...
He plays good on the big table also. Hell, he would play good in a sandbox...just a super guy.
I had the chance to see this kid shane play in vegas. He is all what his uncle Mike has told us about him in college station. I was very pleased to watch him play. He is a very good pool player and has a lot in the futrue for him
