What has that got to do with playing as well as you can?…or maybe you think Shane could’ve won the world with a broom stick.Old but true. Shane could play with a broomstick and outplay most on this forum.
The point is, just because Shane plays with a certain shaft doesn’t mean it will make Joe League Banger any better. Maybe it will. What do I know? What has that got to do with playing as well as you can?…or maybe you think Shane could’ve won the world with a broom stick.
Not necessarily, but if that someone has a chance to borrow a friends smaller diameter cue s/he should. This would happen even if the friend said he played it.Personal preferences are just that, personal. Should someone switch from a 12.4mm to an 11.8mm if that's what Shane uses?
Still got my ‘68 Joss….it’s my one pocket cue.If anyone ever finds one cue that is just perfect. Buy it , don't let it out of your sight, never ask anyone else to watch it for you, take it to the rest room with you and NEVER sell it.
Play with it exclusively and learn what it does, how it does it and why it does it. AGAIN never sell it..
You will never need or even want another cue. Nor will you care about another cue. They won't matter.
It makes no difference what any cue does for anyone else, it's what it does for you that matters.
That's my advice and I am sticking to it...
That’s kind of a no brainer…didn’t have to be said.…..The point is, just because Shane plays with a certain shaft doesn’t mean it will make Joe League Banger any better. Maybe it will. What do I know?
Caring what diameter shaft a certain player uses has zero to do with playing with good equipment. I don’t use a Cynergy or a carbon fibre shaft for that matter. Does that mean my cue is shit? That’s kind of a no brainer…didn’t have to be said.…..
But if a man doesn’t care about his equipment, he probably can’t play very well….
Doc Holiday didn’t go to the OK Corral with a Saturday night special.
Funny you say this. A great friend has an 80's Joss. It is a delight. I offered him $2000 for just the shaft. Put the cash on the table twenty 100 dollar bills! He just laughed said no thanks and bought me a beer for showing him I meant business..Still got my ‘68 Joss….it’s my one pocket cue.
I’m not going to discuss cues with you anymore…..but I’ll tell you one golf story. Lee Trevino’s friend got him to try his putter…Caring what diameter shaft a certain player uses has zero to do with playing with good equipment. I’ve heard that before. God help us if Shane does something similar. There will be threads asking how hard Shane slammed his cue…LOL.I’m not going to discuss cues with you anymore…..but I’ll tell you one golf story. Lee Trevino’s friend got him to try his putter…
…Lee liked it so he went to the pro shop and bought one. When he got back to his motel, he raised the putter over his head and slammed the heel into the carpet…changed the angle slightly….and started winning….that putter put him in the HOF.
That’s shaft was a POS I hit plenty of balls with it. I think that’s why he plays so good now. If he could play with that shaft with no tip-he could play with anything. That shaft is a great piece of American pool history. All kidding aside.Look at what Shane used when he was very young.i remember the old schon cue he had, Solid shaft nothing fancy
it comes down to what you like. And someone telling you, buy this cue and you will play better with this shaft or that!! In the end it does not matter.
Yeah I wasn't going to put it up again. Knowing that the he was on about 11. 8 and 12.5 he probably all ready watched it.Here is the video:
I am not sure Efren cared that muchThat’s kind of a no brainer…didn’t have to be said.…..

Efren beat everybody with a pos $20 cue when he first came over. My local spot is full of league bangers using $1000+ cues that couldn't play dead in a western. Equipment in this game is so over-rated.I am not sure Efren cared that much
Efren cared a lot….he showed up to a tournament with three butts and seven shafts….he kept trying out different combos till he settled on a pair. He was given a 314 once…he hit one shot and gave it back…he said “I don’t like where the cue ball goes.”I am not sure Efren cared that much
I’ve got a cue made by the guy who made Efren’s….it’s a good cue…I don’t use it much…it’s a bit thick in the butt for me.Efren beat everybody with a pos $20 cue when he first came over. A friend went to the Red's event in '85. He got a good look at at ER's cue and wasn't too impressed. My point was that he could have used a warped house cue and still been great.I’ve got a cue made by the guy who made Efren’s….it’s a good cue…I don’t use it much…it’s a bit thick in the butt for me.
An older Pinoy gave it to me….Efren said they all learned from him…his name was Brigid Quinto.
