Shane VanBoening's LONG cue

He spoke about that extension in the last ever TAR podcast with efren, he said that he felt better with the extension on his cue and kept it all the time, also mentioned that Earl Strickland is a genius and since Earl used extension full time before with his fishing long cue, Shane said that there is something to it and he also felt good with the longer cue.

Anyway it is his R-360 cue with a cuetec extension, you can buy them from amazon or ebay or Cuetec store, the cue with the extension

They also weight the cue on that TAR podcast and it came out to be 24 oz with that extension

I don't agree with him. I played the same with the 18oz cue and the 23oz cue. They felt different, because one is heavier, but I got the same action of out both.

You can get an exact quote if you want, but I think he's full of it regardless.

I'll have to agree, you can get maximum draw/follow using any weight. But those delicate half tip above center to get the ball to roll an inch would have to be effected somewhat. Of course, the top tier players could adjust to anything. I'm still trying to figure stuff out.

In a perfect world, weight has nothing to do with it, for a few reasons:
- Gravity, causing friction
- Your arm thrusting forward, following through, then ultimately coming to a stop.

A heavy cue may seem like it makes the ball go faster on soft shots and slower on hard shots, because your arm may not be able to move/stop a heavier cue the same as a lighter cue.

Take a look at research on break cue weights.
As an example:
I can break just as fast with a 24oz cue, as I can with a 18oz cue.
I've tried a 28oz break cue and my speed suffered, because I can't swing it as fast.

Ok, this is an awesome take. I'm going to look into it this weekend.

i'm having a 60in cue built with a 6in screw in extention. I cant wait. I've already hit a few balls with it and i just love the way the 60 feels.

I've had a 6" and 10" extension for quite awhile, love them both, but play with the 10"(stay with me here) mostly.
