Shane vs. Alex day two updates.

Shane breaks two balls

The CB gets an unlucky carom and the ten blocks his shot at the two.

Shane plays a push to a kick shot. Alex gives it right back.

Shane almost kicks it in and might have gotten a safety.

It was open and Alex got it with shape on the three.

Alex rattles the nineball.

He doesn't leave a very good shot but it is cutt-able.

Shane makes the nine and finishes it off to take the lead 55-54

The nine blocks the one.

Shane pushes out giving a hair of an edge of the one seeable.

Alex cuts the one over to sink a ball sitting in the corner.

He leaves himself tough on the one and attempts a safe which fails.

The three may be blocking the corner pocket on the one though.

The one went. He rattles in the three and leaves himself a little straight on the five. He makes a good shot to come back for the seven.

Shane gets tough on the eight and spends several minutes contemplating what to do. First he was going to bank it into the side then decided to cut it all the way up and hit it beautifully. He then makes a great shot on the nine and cinches the ten for the rack and a two game lead.

Shane attempts to jump it and ALMOST makes it but it rattles out. He got a roll for once and left Alex tough.

Alex tries to safety Shane and comes up a little short.

Shane goes for the shot but misses it.

Alex goes for a combo and it rattles and falls.

He then comes up short for shape on the two.

He plays a strong safe on Shane who tries to three rail hit it and misses giving Alex BIH.

Alex should get out here to take it back to within one game.

Shane makes the two and gets a breakout on the five which didn't have a pocket and gets shape on the three.

He draws back for the four but hits the five and doesn't have a pocket for it since he ended up on the wrong side of it.

Shane banks it cross side and scratches in the corner after making the five.

Alex gets out to tie it up at 56.

He has an open shot on the one, but the four has no pocket. It's blocked by the eight on one side and the five on the other.

Shane appears to be setting up for the bank.

Shane makes the four across in the side.

Shane makes the run to take a two game lead again.

Shane breaks and scratches after an unlucky kick.

Shane was pissed and picked up the CB and bounced it off the table three feet in the air.

Alex comes to the table with BIH.

Alex tries to get the seven away from the rail to have an easier shot from the seven to the eight but he knocks it to block the two ball which he can no longer see.

He's looking to either kick or spin off the rail behind the seven.

Alex was able to spin into the two but left him a long shot on the three.

Alex makes the three and it looks like he should get out from here.

wow, he got a little striaght on the eight but managed to roll forward for the nine in the side, but overshoots shape on the ten.

He makes an 80 degree cut into the corner on the ten to bring it within one game.

Shane has a shot on the one, but the two is in a precarious position.

Shane makes a great shot breaking out the ten two with perfect shape on the two.

Shane has still had problems getting back into his Rhythm.

Shane miffs shape on the five and rattles it.

We may be looking at another tie game.

Alex is making some good shots and overshooting some shots. He's put himself on the rail shooting at the nine.

He made the nine and is really close to the ten which is three and a half feet from the side with an odd angle. He may shoot it all the way up in the corner.

He misses the ten but leaves Shane a full table long cut , which he goes for a bank instead and miffs it double kissing and leaving Alex a bank into the side which he drilled.

Shane plays a safety and makes a good safety that he may have a window for.

Alex attempts to bank the seven and leaves Shane a tough but makeable cut. Shane rattles it and Alex runs out to take the lead again.

Slight correction: He missed the edge of the 3 because the cueball brushed the 5 on the way to the 3. The commentators did not see it. But I clearly saw the 5 turn a few degrees.

Shane plays safe and leaves the one open with no easy shots probably will be a safety.

Shane plays a safe but the one hits the eight and Alex can see it.

Alex plays safe behind the three.

Shane misses it and gives Alex BIH.

Alex gets out to take a two game lead 60-58.

Alex safeties Shane and Shane will kick the ball and leaves a lot of distance with no makeable shot

Alex swings and misses but lucks a roll to give Shane no shot.

It's gotta be double frustrating for Shane.

Shane brings out a bank on the two with decent shape on the the three.

Shane over strokes it and locks himself behind the six on the four.

Shane misses the four and gives Alex BIH.

Alex uses bad judgement and Shane gets a five ten carom when Alex tries to play safe and fails.

Shane makes the two but gets a bad roll

He had to kick at the three and leaves the table open.

Alex gets out to take the lead 61-60.

Alex doesn;t have a shot on the one.

He attempts a safe and lets Shane to the table. Shane seems on tilt.

He really needs to free wheel and get back into his rhythm.

Alex Safeties Shane by locking up on the eight.

Shane tries for a three rail kick and scratches just barely missing the one.

Alex gets the run and takes his lead to two games.

He almost scratches. HE does titty hook Shane though.

Shane pushes.

Alex attempts to safe but goes long.

Shane safeties Alex and Alex kicks it in to the corner.

So long as Alex can slow down play and keep Shane out of his Rhythm, I like Alex to win this.

If Shane can take back the game and put it at his normal pace, he'll roll over Alex.

Alex plays a two carom off the three into the side, but the three rolls down with the nine hooking Alex. He tries to play safe but gives Shane a shot.


Shane keeps second guessing himself and keeping himself out of his rhythm. I really feel bad for Shane, he's having to grind for every game he wins.

Shane gets out to get within one game.

61-62.

The CB gets a kiss and gives Shane a bad shot on the one. He contemplates playing safe but ends up going for a long sharp cut all the way down table. Shane makes it but ends up scratching into the side.

The commentators are saying Shane should've played safe. I don't think so. If he does it keeps the game at Alex's pace. He needs to take the pace of the game back so he can start stringing racks.

Alex ran out the table to take the lead back to two. 63-61.

Alex makes a tough cut on the two and gets REALLY lucky not to scratch in the side.

Alex manages to run out and take the biggest lead in a long time.
