Shane vs. Ronnie Alcano NOW FREE!!!!!!

They battled for a while playing safeties on the 2-ball until Ronnie got a roll. Shane took a flier and made the hit, but left a one rail bank in the side door. From there Ronnie just got out, but made it interesting as he got a little out of line. Ronnie played great. Although Shane wasn't at his best, he hung in there and made it interesting. Thanks TAR for the stream and I hope they make some DVD's.

does that mean that Shane only wins if he played his best? I believe this is an understatement both to Shane and Ronnie. I wouldn't say that Shane got on the hill not playing his best, not while his opponent is shooting great pool. I believe if Shane got the last rack, you would say how great Shane had played. give credit to both. they deserve it, regardless of who won.

I don't know why you are nit picking at my post. But whatever problem you have is created between your own two ears. I did give credit to both players and it would have read the same if the roles were reversed. Ronnie took down arguably the best player in the world right now. And he looked good doing it. It wouldn't surprise me if he won the whole thing and he almost did it last year. Believe what you want. The best player won tonight.

Shane is really good but he isn't the best player in the world right now. Especially if "right now" includes the past several weeks where he was in the Philippines getting beaten.

I just finished the whole race to 25 between Shane and Lee Van Corteza. Shane had PLENTY of chances to at least keep the set even or be ahead all the way to the finish line and he didn't capitalize on them. At some points in the match he looked a player who was playing with his "give up" stroke.

Shane is clearly among the best in the world right now but he isn't The Best. Who is you might ask?

Well, I guess I will leave you with a quote from another great player who quit way to early, Ilona Bernhardt, when asked if she was better than her contemporaries in Europe as she was on top of her game, she said, "I don't beat them every time we play so I cannot consider myself to be better than they are. When I can, then I will be."

Ronnie & Shane's match-up

Well, looks like they finished what they started Saturday night!

Anyways, Ronnie really wanted to play for big money but I guess Shane wasn't comfortable that night, and with good reasons.

Ronnie is a "monster" in big money games. He can literally run out from anywhere as he demonstrated. Not to take anything away from Shane but it appeared that Ronnie is more imaginative in his run out strategies; breaking clusters with his shots, kissing object balls with another balls to be able to run out and impeccable cue ball control...

Congrats, Calamba!!!!

You got the 8 for life!!!:D
