Sharing My Bad Luck.....

Hey kaznj, did you read my post? My bad luck is all encompassing. It is not just in pool. Every time I get my lawnmower to cut my grass this spring it rains within 5 minutes. Every time without exception. With a clear sky & no forecast of rain. Same thing exactly at my camper. What are the odds of that?

I bought a new Dodge ram truck loaded a few years ago. Had it only 1 year. It was 1st smashed into by a junkyard truck in a freak accident with major damage. Then it was hit badly parked in front of my house. Then it was totaled in another freak accident. Another driver with OSU football tickets was going 55 in a 25mph residential area & ran a stop sign & broadsided me. He hit me so hard with his truck that it picked my my full-size truck carrying it across the intersection & wrapping it literally around a thick utility pole. Only through my fast reflexes was I able to avoid being killed. I am not allowed to drive a new vehicle. I drive an old station wagon now & for 6 years no one has even bumped me. See what I mean?

Those who do not suffer from bad luck are in denial of bad luck. It exists.

If you didn't get killed as hard as he hit you, sounds like you are pretty lucky.

Sorry kaznj, my reply was meant for pt109. Thank you for the good wishes but with the frequency of bad luck events that happen to me it doesn't appear that good luck is on the horizon. I have had to drastically adjust my lifestyle to accommodate these events [e.g., driving only junkers]. I had a corvette back in the day but 1st it was smashed up in a freak accident & then it was burned up in a garage fire that was set by an arsonist. I had that fellow sent to prison for ten years [of course no compensation for the vette]. Took 7 years to settle the insurance claim for the vette. I never saw a dime of insurance money for the truck & was sued for $18,600.00 by the credit union who took possession of the truck after the accident, took the insurance $$$ [$24.000.00], sold it in an auto auction for $16,000.00 & kept the total $$$ plus the $$$ I had to pay in the settlement.

Tell me about bad luck...

Put things in prospective. Nobody is sick. Nobody is dying. Everything can be fixed. I hope everything works out for you. Good luck will come.

Exactly. Getting right down to it, health is everything. The rest is "just stuff".

The ONLY reason I survived was because of my chronic bad luck I have to be ever on the alert for anything out of the ordinary. I was going down a side street & the intersecting street had a stop sign with a blind corner. Out of the corner of my eye I saw the other truck barreling through the stop sign at 55mph. In less than a split second I floored my truck & the 360 magnum engine took me 2 1/2 feet forward from where the other truck would have come right through the cab killing me. I was still hurt but not killed. I take full credit for that.

No good luck whatsoever. It was my quick reflexes & my anticipation of expecting bad luck always.

And I was getting my truck washed so it would be nice & clean. I had done a one-man clothing drive for a poor black church in Columbus & was supposed to drop off the truckload of clothes I had gathered for their congregation. The clothes didn't make it that day.

Wow!!! That really bites!!
Problem with locking gas caps is they are usually aftermarket, they suck and most often do not seal the filler neck. If your car is OBDII (post 1995) you may have trouble with MIL light illuminating due to p0440 series codes for your EVAP system then it wont pass emission test if required in your area.:(

Locking gas caps don't work. They just insert a big screw driver in the key way and give it a twist.

Either way, this Blows Goats big time. Bad luck happens in threes so hoping you don't get another.

I can be rather nimble at times and clumsy at others. Thats why I have rubber standing mats in front of my lathes. Not only are my feet comfy but I can't afford to be dropping cues on the concrete.

Hope the rest of the weeks goes great for ya Buddy. Just remember, those little bad lucks are replaced by good lucks.
