Sharked by railbirds

You have a girlfriend. Men with a GF or a wife tend to develop the ability to hear without listening. Develop this capability so that you can hear the sharking going on, but not listen to the sharking and play your game.

That is don't let it get into your head.

That's actually pretty good advice if you can pull it off. My wife will stop and ask me to repeat what she just said to make sure I'm paying attention.

This is great advice! If that dosn't work, get an IPOD.

What everyone is saying is absolutely true, the only unfortunate thing in all this is the fact that pool is the only sport where this is commonplace.

I just watched some of the British Open Golf, and you never see anyone overtly sharking someone else, even the crowd will wait until the shot is over to applaud or take a photo.

It's sad that it's part of the billiard culture to do that. Maybe Europe does not have the same problem, but here in the states it has existed for at least a century.

Sure, we can all become immuned to it for our own benefit, but too bad that we have to fade it.

Ever watch the guys shoot free throws in college or pro basketball, or the floor exercises in gymnastics. It's a madhouse.

Excellent Advice!

We have had a lot of fun with this thread but this is actually super advice. When I am competing at my best it isn't because I am unaware of everything around me, I am more aware than normal. However all of the could be distractions just flow through me and around me leaving me undisturbed.
