Shelf life of 3M adhesive 10?

use it up ASAP

What I've found is that the longer the glue goes unused, it starts to "separate" and you have to make sure you mix it up well before use.

As it gets older, and the more it is exposed to air, it gets thicker and gums up a lot easier, making it harder to work with. IMO it sticks better the sooner you use it.

Be careful of this stuff. I got a 5 gallon bucket of it and stored it in glass jars. I had it less than a year and the stuff was so separated and gooey it was not useable. After talking to the 3M guy when ordering the next bucket, found out there is a born on date that goes along with the serial number. Check that before you buy the glue, the bucket could have been sitting on the shelf for a year before you even get it.

THAT...is a very good fact, as some 3M locations don't move the glue to often, I know to well...that you can buy glue that is already on the way OUT:mad:

Cobra time

Actually longer than that, I've had some in quart jars for over 2 years.

Two years in the Cobra time warp is actually only two months of time for the rest of us!!!HAHAHHA
or is that reversed!!!!

I think RKC gets extra shelf life from his glue because it is constantly being shaken as he drives across the country. Do not expect to get the same results for jars sitting on a shelf in the shop!!!
I have experienced way less shelf life here in Las Vegas with the glue in mason jars. Less than a year on one bucket. The original born on date has alot to do with it also. The 3m dealers are happy to sell an old bucket to a flooring or laminate guy who might use it all in a week or two, and they will do the same to you if you don't ask about the freshness of the glue.

If your not using very much try finding another installer in your area and split the 5 gal pail between the two of you. Try to find a dealer that is moving fresher buckets more often.JMO

Good Luck
