Shinobi, an honest seller........you decide.

Over a month ago I ordered two sets of uni-loc joint protectors from Shinobi. I paid for them and pretty soon they arrived, just like things are supposed to work. But the shaft side of one of the sets didn't fit the shaft quite right. I emailed the seller, Shinobi, and said I wasn't too happy about the one piece not fitting correctly.

He immediately wrote back and said he'd replace the defective piece. Then said, as a matter of fact, he'd be replacing both pieces, just to make sure that both pieces, butt and shaft joint protectors, match. His only concern was making sure that getting a complete new set, delivered to my door at his expense, would be enough to satisfy me. He never questioned my word, and he even said, keep the defective set too.

Well, in spite of what he said, I returned the original set, and I'm glad I did. My new joint protectors showed up in today's mail, and they're even a little fancier and nicer quality than the set I'd paid for. Shinobi had built them and sprayed them, and I had them in my hands, in only two weeks. And his only concern was thanking me for my patience, and making sure I was satisfied with his performance as a seller.

If you ever have the good fortune to buy anything from Shinobi, don't hesitate. If you ever buy from anyone else, I hope they treat you like Shinobi would. And if you ever sell anything to me or to anyone else here, I hope we get the "Shinobi treatment"........a "Shinobi deal" is one based on honesty and mutual trust. Being treated with respect and your words not questioned.........and a no questions asked promise to make it right.
Tom, it's a real pleasure knowing you and doing business with you.
Thanks again!!!!

Thanks Rick for the kind words. You make an excellent buyer. Great communication, great transaction. I hope we can do business again :)

Hey "rockcrawlr",
RE:Title of your thread. If there is no concern, WHY SHOULD YOU ASK THAT QUESTION OUT OF THE GATE?

Shinobi & I exchanged a few PM's awhile back. He knows my view point at that time.

"This is all I will say at this point".

"Have a nice day",
Lamar

Lamar,
While I agree the title ("...you decide") could be misinterpreted since Rick was obviously quite happy with our transaction, his post is clear and easy to follow. I appreciate his feedback.

Thank you for the pleasant PMs you and I exchanged awhile back, also.

funny thing

Most of the posters on this site seem to care more for thier reputation than thier wallet. That is why they deal with each other I notice it over and over again. I have had the same experience with a few of you and hope to pass on some of the deals that come my way and get some in return thanks Nick

I asked that question to get peoples attention, to arouse curiosity, and to get them to read the post. Yes the title is ambigous, but I think I make my feelings pretty clear...........if you read the post.

how about posting a pick of these sweet little joint protectors.???

I have the JPs but no digital camera. Shinobi, can you post the picture of 'em that you sent me the other nite??
Thanks

I don't have your JPs to photograph again, but here's a picture of a very similar set. Yours were a slightly lighter color and Uni-Loc joint (these are 5/16x14)

wow

I'll give Shinobi a break here,
All I ask is, That Shinobi post: The missing info that I had a problem with during the passing of our PM'S.

LAMAR

Lamar,

To my recollection our PMs were rather straightforward.

1) I offered to sell you an item
2) You told me you'd prefer to deal with a company rather than a private individual on the Internet you did not know
3) I offered references, and at the same time said I completely understood and respected your decision to be cautious as I exercise the same caution
4) And that was the end of our PM exchange

What is the "missing info [you] had a problem with during the passing of our PMs"? If you were upset with me you never indicated so before this thread.

Shinobi,
Believe me Shinobi, I hope I'm wrong in this spot.
The Following Is What I Rember,(Now that you ask):

1): I made a post in a thread related to the "OB-1" shaft.

2): I then received a PM from you advising you was a dealer of the "OB-1" & save me some $.
You did provide an E-Mail address. I'll give you that credit.

3): I responed thru AZ's PM system, what I was looking for in an OB-1 Shaft & requested the transaction be done in the AZ PM format.

4): You rejected my offer, stating, "the order would be
harder to tract."

5): I latter adviced, that I had changed my mind.

6): I then latter advised you that I would not deal with just an e-mail address.

7): You Never provided a Company Name, Street Address, City, State or phone number

Lamar, if it means anything, I've bought close to 10 OB-1 shafts for myself and my friends through Shinobi. He provided good price and more importantly, most excellent customer service by keeping me informed of the shipping status.

Boy Nick, you really hit the nail on the head with your post. To this point, I have had nothing but great dealings with any of the AZB crowd. It has truly been a pleasure to be associated with everyone. Even when things don't go right in a deal, good communication and common sense can prevail.

Case in point, I recently sold a cue to bogey, shortly after, he decided it wasn't for him. I refunded him his money. He accidentally sent my cue to cubswin and sent me cubswin's Scruggs (Of course I thought he was simply giving me a nice gift:D :D ). The three of us communicated, cubswin sent my cue to me and I sent his cue to him. None of the drama, hard feelings, or anything else, just a good business deal. That is the way it should be.

As for Shinobi, I have found him to be an exceptional person to deal with and will certainly try to do business with him again in the future.

Tom, did you make those JPs? Very nice. What is the cost of JPs like that?
Joe

Shinobi bought a Higher-End cue from me and the deal went perfectly. He was extremely communicative, smooth sailing-

Lamar,
This is what happened, in a nutshell:

1) Lamar: I'm interested in an OB-1 shaft
2) Me: I can get you one. If you don't mind, send your order to my e-mail since I find it easier to keep track of orders via e-mail
3) Lamar: I've decided to buy direct from the company, rather than a private individual on the Internet
4) Me: Okay
5) The End

Our communications were short and sweet. You never asked for my address or phone number, nor did you indicate that you'd rather order via PM than e-mail. I'll gladly take your order scrawled on a paper napkin, what do I care? Whatever you may have felt you wanted in your mind was NOT communicated to me.

Then a few months go by and you hijack this thread with mysterious comments about your "missing info" and problems -- and those problems turn out to be that I politely asked for an e-mail, and that I hadn't volunteered my address+phone number (that you never asked for).

With all due respect Lamar, this is no way to treat people.

Lamar.. honestly what is your problem? I see you going out of your way to try to make shinobi look bad. From both stories, I still see nothing wrong with the PM's being exchanged. You didn't want to deal with shinobi, he didn't have a problem with it. I dont see where shinobi went wrong at all.

You wanted everyone here to see the "missing information".. well we just saw it and what are we exactly looking for again? I saw the information and here is my feed back. I DON'T SEE ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE EXCHANGE OF THE PMs.

On a side note, I bought a new 314 shaft for the price I couldn't even buy a used one for from Shinobi. I'm not here to say he gives great discounts. I accidentally sent Shinobi payment through paypal with the wrong address and he refunded immediately and returned all of my emails very quickly. We finished the transaction and he threw in express delivery at no charge.
