Shipping a cue to a buyer?

I am curious what is the safest way for the seller and buyer to send a cue
besides using escrow . I have received payment in full already by postal money order.
If shipping USPS 2nd day priority would you insure for full value and signature required?

Insurance and signature, eliminates a lot of variables like " I didnt see it when I looked". Also the insurance covers you as far as lost shipment goes. Always a good idea IMO.

I always insure the cues I sell for full Retail Value PLUS a $100 for unforeseen incidentals.

I pack the merchandise well & ALWAYS require a signature AND agree with the USPS to ship the cue back.

Good Luck...

I don't like USPS with anything of major value due to insurance and tracking.

The cant actually track anything and claims are a major PIA. You also have to wait a while just to file the claim if the package does it make it.

I would have thought you had figured out shipping before payment but if there is enough profit I would use FedEx or UPS.

USPS is cheaper though and I use their shipping on a regular everyday basis. Difference for me is that I have more of the same items I am shipping and can replace and deal with USPS afterwards. I never use them for cues or items of importance or one offs.

Don't 'cheap' the packing and the shipping...period! You are just asking for something to go wrong when you do this. Take the time to package the cue the way YOU would want it packaged for shipment if you were the purchaser. ALWAYS insure for full value, with a signature required. Double check the USPS website...sometimes you're actually better off shipping USPS Express because many of the 'extra' charges are included in the upgraded service. Also note...2nd Day Priority is NOT guaranteed. I had a USPS Priority envelope go missing for better part of a week...and had zero recourse. The USPS doesn't tell you that, but it is absolutely true.

Always get insurance. I usually get it for more than the items worth. Just in case
