Shipping to Asia

I will no longer be shipping anything to Asia . To many parcels getting lost , Tracking once it leaves U.S. soil , is non existant .

There is a place in the Avitar for Location . Several times I have done J/ps and cues only to find out the buyer is not in the U.S . and the shipping charges are very high , would be nice , to be able to give a accurate price for a job , including shipping . This has bit me in the Ass more that I want to admit .

The Buyer wants his product , and I don't blame him , I have put return address on Everthing I ship , the lost parcells seem to never get deliverd , and never get returned . The buyer says , just make me more . How do I know they wont be lost also , and just make me another very easy to say . If this happened to a 5-600 dollar cue , that would be to much .

Thanks Jim

Yur_b17 got his money back from PayPal and I believe he also got his J/ps , ALSO. Tracking shows them leaving U.S. soil , but the P.O. said that's as far as they can Track .

Addition .

I am going to continue to sell and ship to Asia , But I will ONLY USE USPO GLOBAL EXPRESS WITH INSURANCE , and the Buyer pays all shipping cost above the normal j/p cost .

I just quote shipping to Singapore , $30. for a set of j/ps . That include insurance of $100.

jim, i agree 100%

i just sent a cue to singapore, takes me 20 min in the post office and it cost $53.00 for the last cue i shipped. i am done shipping overseas, unless its u.s. military

I don't even send stuff to Canada hehe. I sell computer stuff often and sent RAM to Canada twice, once it never got there (the tracking info just stopped after it left my town) the second time it took 3 weeks, although that time it turned out the guy's neighbor got the package and never told him. Either way, 100% failure rate for me sending stuff even as close as Canada of it getting to the right place.

Surprised that you would have problems shipping to Canada. I live in Canada and had bought a Meucci cue. I decided to add another shaft and I called them directly and they put me in touch with a U.S. distributor (forgot the name), everything went great. Received the product, shipping was reasonable, overall a good experience. Later I ordered another shaft (black dot) from them and again a great experience. When one of my ferrules cracked I sent the shaft to them, they replaced the ferrule and sent it back prepaid. 100% success and satisfaction rate.

I haven't heard of very many problems with shipmens to Canada. I hear tons of problems with South America, Central America.

This is why you see many e-bayers' with "NO INTL" for shipping options. They have learned from experience.

Pay no attention to this man Jim

Dave <- just received Baxter cue number 2 and could track it via USPS until Canadian Customs handoff, then via Canada Post until it is delivered. Same with the Prather, the BHQ, the PFD, and all the Schmelkes

I will say the same as Dave. I have ordered a lot of cue supplies and cues over the years.
I have always been able to track the shipment from drop off in the USA until hand off at Canada Customs and right to arrival at my house. I have always known exactly which day my item will be delivered.

I have no idea what this other guy is talking about.

Very strange. I have lived in China and Thailand for several years and have had 4 cues shipped to me from the US using USPS. No problem with any of them.

Maybe I am just lucky

I don't think I have ever had a problem with Canada , everything has worked pretty good .

I have had a lot of shipments go threw to Asia , but when they don't , it hits pretty hard , Paypal gives them there money back or I make the new sets , Nobody ever hears what happened to the original stuff . What if it was a $600. cue . Just make another ????? I don't think so . Jim

This is not complicated. It's possible to ask the post office or shipping company in advance if the place you are shipping to does offer full door-to-door tracking and insurance, or not.

If they offer it, buy the insurance and include it in the cost. If the package goes missing, insurance claim.

If not, either the buyer has to accept risk and responsibility for it being shipped without tracking and insurance, or just don't ship it.

It's either insurable or it isn't. Someone can take the risk or not. It won't be me...

As for shipping to and from Canada, it's very easily traceable and insurable, so no risk there. I've had to do a couple insurance claims in my day and I kept receipts so I got the cash. No big deal.

I am from Singapore and I have bought quite a number of cues as well as pool related items since 2004.
So far, all items shipped via USPS with tracking numbers reached me safely.

I had ordered 2 pairs of joint protectors from Jim Baxter before and they reached me safely(thankfully!)

The only problem I had is that I had a cue which was sent without tracking number and that is the one which has not reached me since December 2012.
I am not sure if the cuemaker had played me out on this as there was no pictures of the cue from start to end and he just told me that he had sent the cue out to me without telling me.

I always indicate to the sellers and cuemakers that I am from Singapore so that they can decide if they are willing to ship to me.
I think being upfront with the location does help to clear up this problem.

I am not sure what is the problem here with the tracking being non-existent after it leaves USA. Perhaps it is a problem within USPS which they cannot solve with other countries.

I saw that there is guaranteed shipped date option for USPS Priority Mail Express International option. Maybe it is not applicable for all countries.

Hopefully someone can help a bit with more information on this.

Marcel<----a bit upset and frustrated by the shipping matters for folks outside US

As a Canadian i'll say that i've bought tons of stuff from US Ebayers and via others (including a set of JP's from Jim) and haven't had anything never show up in 15+yrs. I always expect to wait at least 3 weeks for whatever it is, but i'm use to it and don't get my panties in a bunch if it doesn't arrive in 3 days and if it does, i'm pleasantly surprised. Customs is customs and everyone knows that government employees work at their own pace.

That being said, i would also be wary of dealing with anyone in Asia.

I have done many EBay transactions with Asian people.

Quality items, good communication, fast and many times free shipping.

Altho there is one Asian person on this forum that will lie and do anything to cheat you out of your money. I wouldn't send him a penny if my life depended on it.

Everyone else seems to think hes so wonderful. I had to deal with his BS and lies for several months.

It is so easy to say , " I did not get my stuff , Send More " But the lost one never comes back .

What the heck, I never got my stuff either! I don't think I actually paid for anything from you either, but that doesn't matter, send me more!!!

I sell Upscale Custom Knives on eBay and Very High-end Wristwatches on WatchNet.
No problems buying, selling, and trading with Japan, Hong Kong, Germany,
and Switzerland. I no longer sell to or ship to any other countries due to
issues with Customs and shipping nightmares.

I don't see any problem in shipping to anywhere in the world!
Important is to calculate the shipping cost correctly! If you use proper shipping companies this definitely will not be a problem! Like Dhl... Ups... And FedEx ...you will always be able to track this at all times and the shipment takes no longer than a week!
I would suggest you quote a net price for whatever you selling not including shipment... If its to outside the USA just inform the client if they have a preferred shipping company n that's it... Client pays for shipping separately ... I'm sure this will work out well jim.
You have really nice products of high quality n I guess people outside the USA are all entitled to purchase them as long as the customer pays for it!!
