This, nothing can be possibly any worst.Renegade said:Anybody else have seen this pool movie starring freddie prinze jr. and ving rhames?
i still can't decide which one is worse: this or pool hall junkies.

Oh wait...were you guys discussing pool in the movie?.....please ignore this post.
P.S. - Truthfully, I thought the plot was fairly interesting (lots of twists), the acting pretty good (EXCEPT for Ving - he must have been on drugs for this one, 'cause I usually like his acting), and the pool a little more realistic than most movies (but that's not saying much). Overall a C minus.

PHJ's, on the other hand, was very entertaining not only for me but for the rest of my family and friends. The pool segments weren't the best in PHJ's but the performances by all the actors except maybe for Rod Steiger, was very good I thought.
A longtime local shortstop and BCA instructor from New Orleans, John "Spike" Wildes (sp) was the technical advisor for SG. He also performed all the difficult shots. Spike is a helluva guy. He told me how difficult it was to get that jump shot just the way they wanted it. I've yet to see the film, but I have no illusions as to it's plot or acting. I just want to see the pool shots.Unknown said:i didnt let the acting phase me in this movie, it had more realistic shooting than poolhall junkies i mean come on who wasnt a little dumbfounded when johnny shot the seven ball and "forgot" to follow for the eight leaving him the 2 rail safety that he needed to talk over with rod steiger first. or the jump shot that you can see pass the nine ball in the final sequence but somehow they end up frozen against the rail. for shooting i give shooting gallery the advantage, entertainment value goes to poolhall junkies storyline goes again to shooting gallery
