Shooting pains going down my shooting arm when I play

I have several back problems. Compression fractures in the L4-L5 area, Degenerative Disc Disease, Arthritis, and Scoliosis to boot. I've been taking prescription aleve and motrin, (naproxen and ibuprofen) and it doesn't do a thing for my back or arm.

I'm gonna go try and get a massage, see if that helps. Thanks for the advice.

Wow Nate, I never knew your back was so messed up! Hope you can get that taken care of soon before it gets even worse.

If you have a cervical injury like what you described is going on in your lumbar region, you'll have radicular pain shooting down your arm(s) or in your fingers, depending on where the injury is. Most likely, something is wrong in the C4/C5, C5/C6 or C6/C7 area. Maybe you can request an MRI from your Doc. I would suspect that the prolonged positioning of your head while you're down shooting is aggravating whatever is wrong in your neck area.

Good luck buddy and get well soon!!

If you know anyone with an inversion machine give it a try.

If not, find a place with one on display and explain you want to see if it helps before you buy.

I used to have a similar problem in my right arm, and more frequently in my left leg.

Chiro helped for a short time, stretching didn't help much. Inversion fixed both.

How much do they generally cost? Sounds like something I could make great use of. -Thanks

I picked mine up used in like new condition for $75.00 and it's a stronger frame than most I'd seen in a store.

New, I don't think I've seen one for much under $200.00.

We own a fair amount of exercise/fitness stuff and it can often be found used for a song from folks who never use it.

I just did a quick Amazon check and found this ---> http://www.amazon.com/Emer-Gravity-Fitness-Inversion-Exercise/dp/B0026VGP64 for $116.58 delivered.

shooting pains in arm

I had this and more five years ago. Mine was caused by extra bone growth at c2 and c3 area that cause a nerve to rub on the extra bone and get inflamed it took three shots over a 2 month period to get rid of it.

It also knotted up either side of my neck and upper back it got to the point I could not sleep for more than 2 or 3 hours at a time.
You need to go to apain management clinic for the shots done at a hospital and you will need to do a lot of stretching that will help over time you will know this after you feel good and stop doing the excersises and start feeling stiff again.

Good Luck hope you get fixed.
