Let's try another one to see how "truthful" you are....Who won the Revolutionary War? (watch the spin on this one...getting my violin out right now to be prepared)

drivermaker said:Yeh...I guess that's possible now that I think of it. I totally forgot...the first time I EVER picked up a golf club I shot 69. The next day I shot 67.
I don't know what happend but from then on out it all turned to shit.![]()

As far as opinions go, we all have a nose & an opinion. Most of our noses are different, so our opinions might not be cookie cutter images either. I read opinions expressed & I understand the motive of one person seeking to help another. However, when mud is thrown back & forth because opinions are contradicted, I see that as a restraint of personal freedom.
If Little Johnny reads a "suggestion" & Little Johnny can't see the usefulness in that suggestion, does Johnny have the right to sling some contradicting mud on the person who made the suggestion? Hopefully not. However, Little Johnny is well within his rights to ignore the message, even if the message was the absolute truth.
The BS that is slung back & forth will someday ruin the forum we all enjoy. That scenario has already been proven

I'd figure that and the point-aim-shoot method.TheOne said:Except Rugby and more recently Cricket of course ;-)

I work in front of a computer and when nothing is happening work wise, Im here, reading. I am 19, I have only been playing for 3-3 1/2 years solid. I am one of the better shots around my area, not the best by far, but the best are learning who I am. I have been referred to as a natural on a few different ocassions. Not claiming natural, just been referred to as one. For my take on the aiming system.
I look for any kind of edge I can get, thats why Im here reading all the time. But when Im playing Im not thinking about use this aiming system, or this is a feel shot. I just do it. Not to ripoff Nike there. Especially when Im focused. Maybe subconsiously I use an aiming system, but consiously I do not. I have read many posts and dont understand why there is something to argue about whose system is best. If Im way off base, let me know and my hello to you will be followed by a goodbye. just my small contribution. fwiw thanks your time.

Even though, by his own admission, he crosses the line on occasion, he always has been and always will be one of my favorite posters on this forum.
PS Fred, my understanding of the meaning of the term backhand english here in New York is "aim and pivot" (sometmes just called "pivot", and not "swoop".

Fred Agnir said:The aim and pivot form of squirt compensation is based on the standard collision dynamics and conservation of momentum. The squirt angle is based on (mostly) the amount of mass in effect during the collision between the cue and the cueball. If there's an offset (english) then the angle of departure will be known.
For every cuestick, there is a pivot fulcrum point such that no matter what offset, the cueball will be delivered down the same original aimline (until swerve takes over). So, if you pivot at that particular pivot fulcrum point one tip to the right or two tips to the right, the squirt angle will send the cueball down the original aimline.
The first description of this (at least known) is from a diagram from the 1800's, when billiard was actually discussed in physics terms. Since most of today's pool cues are built similar in the last 8 or so inches of the shaft, and by tests, the final so many inches are usually all that's involved in the collision, then most cue sticks today would have about the same "pivot point." For many cues, it coincides at roughly the bridge length (8-12").
For simplicity's sake, many of us just pivot at our bridge. Pivoting at the bridge to adjust for squirt is what Hal Houle calls "Backhand English."
