Should I refinish the OS Diamond or keep it as it is?

I have a opportunity to buy this table and my question is What all is needed to strip the wood down and refinish it black? I have looked on YouTube but couldn't find much about refinishing a pool table. I know I will have to sand all the old finish off and in order to do that I would have to take the table completely apart. Or should I just keep it how it is?

Hello,

IMO, I would buy a GC1, Anniversary, or a Centennial...

That table looks really rough, how old is it?

Not a mechanic but I will tell you while researching tables before I bought my gc2 there are lot of posts about issues with red label rails. From what I read rail design or nose height not sure which one, but balls would bank short or sometimes hop off the rails. That being said I like diamond tables just know the blue labels are preferred. I'm sure if I am incorrect the mechanics will chime in. Good luck hope you get a nice table.

The overall finish in the pics looks ok... Except for the tops of the rails.
You may just want to sand the rail tops, restain to match, and refinish.
