Shouldn't 1 Pocket Be ?

Aha! Now I know who was always sitting on the lights above the tables at my university. I always thought it was too look down the coeds shirts.

This is creeper.

Shouldn't 1 Pocket Be A Game Better Viewed By Looking Down On The Table More Often Than Other Games, To Help Viewers Learn The Game?
You can say that about every pool game when it comes to learning. Not all streamers are able to provide that view. A place like Sharks is set-up for it whereas traveling streamers often have no way of giving the overhead shot.

Keeping the target audience happy is important, but on the other hand, tournaments and gambling matches aren't being made as instructional videos. I suspect the best way to learn, is to stop watching videos, and start practicing more.

Depends what you're looking at. But yes to see the table layout sitting in balcony is great. I sat in the balcony every day at the 1992 US Open 14.1 and the view was fantastic, but not every venue has a balcony. If you want to see a players stroke/cue action it's better to be down at table level and close.

You have a point about practice but remember that proper practice is what is needed. All pool and particularly one pocket has idiocies that you could hit balls for a lifetime and not pick up.

You need education as well as practice. Sometimes you gain from nontraditional play too. Corey Deuel had a great run at Derby City one pocket one year. Rack your own and apparently no oversight, Corey blatantly pulled the back rows away from the front rows, slug racking himself and insuring that he would get a nice safe break. I don't think that should have been allowed but apparently no rule against it, except the rules of fair play. He wasn't hiding this, did it very openly in the recorded rounds. What was of more interest were some unique safeties he played. Those were just great play and of benefit to learn.

Education, particularly pool related education is where you find it. Books, videos, and on the table. Got to learn what you find. First you learn, then you practice to be able to execute what you learned.

I'm not discounting the value of education. I have learned a lot from books and videos, and own quite a few.

All I'm saying, is that watching a recorded pool match (tournament or gambling) is no more of an educational video, than watching a basketball game on television. Yes, you can learn by watching them. But their main purpose is entertainment, and thus, I don't expect them to be set up like an educational video. That's all.

As you suggested, if you really want to learn, buy an instructional video from a qualified teacher, who takes the time to pause the action, and explain exactly what he is trying to accomplish with each particular shot. Or buy some books. Or take some lessons. Or all three.

What I'm trying to see is, Selling the game to nonplayers the world over... I see on this forum that now one pocket is going to Europe... Had all on this forum rather 1p be just a pool players game and not involve the non pool player... I myself have never favored the game, not good enough or not enough patience... Plus lost money playing it... According to Hole said that there is six wholes on a table to be played...
Wouldn't the world be better off with a two whole table... Guy

There is a two hole table. The holes are at the head of the table although I guess it would be easy enough to play one pocket from the other end. I have thought it might be interesting to try the designated one pocket pockets to be the head corner pockets instead of the foot pockets.
