I like your cue. Regarding Burton Spain, I've been researching the origins of my Titleist conversion. I know my cue was made by the late "Tex" Fitzgerald in Chicago. I bought it new from Tex in 1971-72. Last week, I read that Tex and Burton Spain knew each other in Chicago. Tex had been making his cues from Titleist butts and then learned Burton Spain was making butts. I know that doesn't mean Tex begain making cues using Burton Spain's butts, but it's a possibility. Maybe Tex made the rest of your cue too.

LOL, slim limpy.... nice one.

@ Bubbaandthem, I think your cue was made by gordon hart at viking. I believe they would have had access back at that time period to those blanks. The pearlescent material screams viking to me. I could be wrong, but that's my hunch.

My latest Schmelke. I upgraded it for $.25

I've never quite figured out what the attraction is to playing with bumperless cues, but anyway here's my collection:

Bumperless cues do not absorb as much sound and vibration as a cue with a bumper. For me, that rubber bumper makes a noticeable difference in the feel and sound of a cue. I have friend who has a similar tascarella to mine with a bumper. I prefer the louder sound and extra vibration you get from a bumperless cue.

It's just for looks. Fashion matters.
