Ok, I don’t think this thread is going to go very far, but I figured I’d give it a shot anyway. Over the years, members have occasionally posted or displayed various homemade items relating to pool, pool cues, homerooms, cases, display cases, cue and shaft racks, various trinkets and bling hanging on their cases, etc. But they have never been collected in a single thread that I am aware of.
So if you’re a do it yourselfer and have made anything custom relating to the game of pool now is the time to post it. Doesn’t have to be perfect, just homemade and one of a kind.
I need ideas. I have run out of neat stuff to build for my homeroom and cue accessories and want to steal some ideas from people who have come up with better ideas than I have thought of to make neat pool stuff--wood, leather, plastics, no matter big or small.
I may not be the greatest pool player out there, but damn I am stylish when it comes to my pool bling.
Here’s my latest personal creation which I finished after getting home from work today. I certainly didn't do any of this at work, no way would I ever do that.
After I visited John Davis to design my cue from him and Prince about 4 years ago, he sent me a sample of my veneer choices to inspect and accept (which obviously I did). I finally came up with an idea to use the samples. The end result is my new chalker stick. This was made entirely using my dremel, files, and sandpaper. Finish is 100% carnauba wax applied using a buffing wheel:

I like the mirror idea. I can see how it would work for short angle shots, but does it work for the longer angles?

I have a set of 3 mirrors that I use for practice, I can shoot up to 3 rails or kicks .
Speed , decent cushions and English is vital.
Getting the mirror even to the cushion which it isn't in my photo is very important for the mirror to be set up.
This isn't my idea nor is it the person that gave me the idea and made this one and gave me some of the parts to make my own .
If you are doing a single bank or kick shot and you shoot top or follow at a 1.5 to a 2 speed then the ball will kick long about 2 inches .
I use a half a tip inside English and the mirror is dead on , on all kick shots, long or short rail .
Bank shots I have to compensate according to speed, but if I bank a ball at a 2 speed then I have to compensate about 3 inches .
The mirror isn't a shoot the ball into the reflection tool .you have to compensate for every rail and speed and English...
There is a e book available on the mirror .

I made a "mirror banking tool once, but I protruded the mirror out to where the object ball's center was "on plane with the mirror"... it was great. It was broken in a move... need to make another one.
I also made a Bridge, to practice my break shot with live balls & use my Radar too.
Works great..
I've also made a bunch of different lights...
Instead of a long mirror, what are your thought on using a shorter one. say about 3-4 ball widths. The reason I was asking was because this device helps forming that base aiming line. You can, as you've stated, adjust with some practice shots. I find it hard to pick an aiming line. either on the cushion or the diamonds.. I think this device helps find the more "intended" aiming line.
Crappy picture, but...
I made my pool cue rack. Nothing fancy about it, but it holds the cues OK.
