ATM,
Took it out twice now, it has a stiff but solid hit. Just like i wanted w/ that wood to wood hit i like. Just trying to adjust back to regular shafts, as I have been playing w/ Predator shafts for a couple years

I guess these will fit Cornerman's description of an original Merry Widow having single wood for the butt & simple rings:

First two cues from the top (kiiroi wood & Purple Heart):

Closer look at the solid Purple Heart

Here's my TAD. The pic is really bad I know but the cue is perfect!!!! Although it is pictured in another thread I figured it belonged here.

Thanks, John

Hello

Hey Chuck I love your cue designs, and I have been able to play with one of your cues before and it played very awesome, hopefully one day I can own one,,,Noel

my merry widow is:

this is a link to dick abbott's cue, not mine.

mine is identical- cuttyhunk linen wrap, probably original finish, a little pinging noise from one of the three bottom rings where the solder has broken loose. pawn shop find. cheap, cheap, cheap.
i almost feel guilty. i put a schon, joss, espirituinstead of the original(warped a bit over 30 or 40 years).
