I just bought a Shurtz at the DCC. I got the cue because I really like the hit. Of course, describing the way a cue hits is subjective and difficult at best, so I will I leave it at saying I like it a lot.

While at the DCC, Grady stopped in the AZ Room and ran a couple of racks of straight pool for us. He used my new Shurtz. After a few shots he stopped and ask me about the cue, saying he really like how it played.

That was a great looking cue. I heard Grady comment about 3 different times on how nice the cue played.

Shurtz ...

I know everyone is waiting for me to post ... lol
Bob Owen is a friend, and we have known each
other about 30 years, first as adversaries in Pool.
I own 2 Shurtz cues, a sneaky Pete with SS joint
that plays real good, and a $1100 custom that I love
with Bacote, Paduak, Coco veneer, and Malachite in a
Southwestern style look (Sowestern not Sowest).
It was featured on the cover with 5 others in the
Jan. 2001 American Cueist Magazine.
I love the balance and feel of both cues. They have
a balance point of 19", and have a 'in the middle'
feel weight wise to me.
Bob is a real good to work with, and takes pride in
his work.
About 90% of the REAL players here play with Shurtz,
that should tell you something, but they are all around
the Midwest. A lot of Oklahoma players have bought
Shurtz too, including House Pros.
go to http://www.Shurtzcues.com
to see some examples of his work. (new website still a work of progress).
You will get a lot of cue for your money with Shurtz.

This month's InsidePOOL Magazine (Jan '06) features Bob Owen (Shurtz Cue) in the Cue Makers Corner article.

Fred

I have had one for a year now and loves the way it plays. Most of the comments I get are that it hits so solid.

I don't think you'll regret it if you buy one.

Good Luck

Thanks

Thanks Everyone for your help..Everthing I read or heard about shurtz is positive I will be ordering one this week....

I bought an unwrapped Shurtz at DCC for $275.
I thought I liked it til Hal kicked my butt in 8 ball.
LOL. Just kidding. Nice cue. Good balance.

im considering letting one being made too, as soon as i can afford it. Bob seems a nice guy, and what ive heared its almost only positive feedback. for the price, it cant go very wrong.

snapshot i was wondering, how the cue would do in terms of collectability and price raise/drop over the years? not the reason why i would buy one, but it nice to know what u can expect for it in the future.

say hi to kimb for me ;) im waiting for your pm with news
