Silver for Veneer

Hey Guys,
Need some advice. Please give me your thoughts.
I gotta make a cap with points that have a Silver Veneer.. I guess .020" (What was that size they sell?)
I was going to just put it on like a wood veneer.. And do it "One side at a time" Method.. Glue a Silver strip on one side, wait till dry and trim to 90*, then, glue on the other Silver strip and trim back to 90*.
Is this O.K. or is there something I gotta know about Silver that's different from wood (in this respect)??
Like if it's too cold and the glue not going stick,
or when heated, the Silver going expand and crack the glue bond??
Gotta etch or roughen the Silver Strip's contact surface so the glue has "Pockets" to fill and "Grab-on" to the Silver??
Thanks....Alton

Thanks Guys... I learned somthing by that one piece post by Hangem.. Like Richard said below, it seamlessly blends in with the ajoining piece.. I see this (Or can't see for that matter.) when I use some Acrylic materials ajoining each other..

Alton, I can tell you all the cues I have with Sterling Silver veneer are continuous. One strip all the way around each individual point.

Every veneer cloud has a silver veneer lining. They look as good as the solid clouds with the solid silver lining, but they cost quite a bit less?:)

Yours may be one piece of silver, I don't know but when I have used metal in cues where different pieces comes in contact with each, they look as if they become one. I don't know if the heat from friction welds them together or if they are just mashed together or what but when turned to size, all the pieces that had touched, look as if they are one.
