Depends on your standard of play and how big your pay packet is.... 760 is a harder wearing cloth that the 860.

Both more than adequate for a basement table.

760 is REAL fast. 860 plays more like the tables you'll find out there in the rest of the world. You must might develop a fine touch with the 760 and it's not that hard to adapt to the 860, or it's equivilant, that you'll find at your local ph.

I went with 860 on my garage table and I love it fwiw.

But I have no idea about 760 in comparison.

Not done with my table yet but I went with the Velocity Pro which is between the speed of 760 and 860 and also about 100 bucks cheaper. I was actually looking for something a bit faster. This cloth has been around for about a year now and is made by Aramith. Check it out at Poolfelt.com which is owned by an AZ poster here by the name of dartman. That is just the route I went after my research.

Championship 30/30 is what I like best, plays like simonis, wears much better imo.

Cloth

i have a gold crown, with 860, and like it !!!!going with blue next time i cover it.:D :D :D

Consider your humidity as well. I have 760 on mine and it plays slightly faster than 860. I love it.

Also, your game is a factor. If you play mostly straight pool, the speed on the 760 helps the balls spread on the break shots better. If you play 8 ball, or 9 ball more 860 is probably a better choice in my opinion.

Good point about the RH. It depends where you live and how you heat/cool your home. I have 860 on my GC in the basement. Having forced air gas heat it is dry in the winter, maybe 30% RH. In the summer I have a dehumidifier running constantly to maintain maybe a 55% RH, I do not have central AC.

The pool hall I frequent has all their GC's covered in 760. They play alot faster than my table. Having fast cloth is great but the table also must be levelled properly. Any impefection is magnified by the faster cloth.

put a humidity gauge in your basement and see what it reads.....if you have normal humidity and mostly play 9ball/8ball etc......go with 860. I have 860 on teh kim steele in my basement and love it.....oh and i love the tourney blue!!

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the 760 is a 2 weave and 860 is 4. Thats why 760 is faster. Its thinner and won't wear like 860.:)

Was just wondering about the velocity pro, is it a nappy cloth or is it smooth like simonis? The pictures on the web site dont really do it any justice. The speed is in between simonis 760 and 860?

I play on both...but I have 860 in my pool room at home. I think the playing on 760 take a smoother softer touch to be accurate so that you dont over play your postions. The adjustment takes a little time to get used to. When you go to pool halls...its 860 speed IMO most of the time. Cant go wrong with either.

From my point of view the 760 is to fast for pool. I have the Simonis 860 on my table and I love it.

760 I believe is 21oz grade, 860 is 24oz, whitch is thicker, and more difficult to stretch.. But the 860 seems to wear longer, but isnt quite as fast.. I prefere the 860, myself.. If you need a sheet, check my price before you buy..either grade, I even carry Super Pro whitch is very simular to 760 but at a lower cost, its made by Miliken...
