SIMONIS FUZZ

I have 6 month old Simonis 860 and the balls, Centennials, are picking up fuzz as they roll along. I keep the tablel and balls very clean. I've brushed the table, vacuumed it, used the Simonis pad, and ran a slightly damp terry cloth over the surface, all to no avail! The fuzz keeps coming! Any ideas?
Hope it isn’t installeer upside down....
Seen it done before on rails....but never bedcloth!

Nope. The correct side is up. Like was said by the OP, it looks great when just looking at it while standing up. However, it plays slow and now that I took those photos I can easily see the fuzz that has been mentioned in this post.

Yeah I just saw the pics....new machines were an issue at first.

Not quite sure what you mean. This is real Simonis with the correct side up. I believe I just received a faulty product.
Contact Simonis. Send pictures. Ask for a replacement… see how it goes.

Here's a pic of the entire table right after the new 860 was installed back in December of 2023. The one thing I noticed, and continue to notice (even though it was indexed properly during the install), are the slightly different shades of the cloth coloring that you can see predominately on the left side of the table as viewed in this photo. Not complaining here folks, just sharing and showing some issues that I feel I'm having with a very expensive pool table covering. Happy shooting!!! 👍

EDIT: It's not any lighting issues that are causing the differing shades of the fabric.....just FYI. Thanks everyone.

I like the color at least! Hopefully Simonis does something for you.

AMAZING POST, thank you!!! I too have been wondering why my new 860 is not playing as it should. I ordered their 'new' color "Shark Grey" around the middle to end of last year cause I really liked its look. Unfortunately, my table has never played anywhere as good, or consistent, as that of any of the pool rooms that I frequent.

Here's a few pics of my Simonis that I took just a few minutes ago with only a hall light on so that you can EASILY see the same fuzz issue as others here on the forum. Not sure what I'm going to do now, but this just AIN'T right!!!!! Simonis costs too dang much to receive a product like this........

EDIT: I meant to add that this is REAL Simonis and has the serial number that shows with a blacklight. It was also installed by a professional. I think I just got some bad cloth.
Looks like your bedroom carpet!

It's tough to tell with the pic being so small, but those look like stretch shadows, most likely due to the installer improperly stretching it.

In terms of the fuzz, your best bet is going to be contacting Simonis direct via email. Provide them the date of purchase and the serial number. If your serial number is covered under the faulty batch they will send you new cloth. I do not think they are reimbursing for cost to install, though.

Gook luck! Please post your outcome.

They have had some issues post-flood but based on what i've heard they will replace if you have good pics and serial #'s.

Would someone link me a cheap light on Amazon that works for checking the logo/serial number. I don’t know anything about them. Thanks!

maybe you can just buy a blacklight light bulb, then you don't need the whole light assembly? I have one at home thats just a bulb. Might be pretty old, who knows.

how about the little pock marks from people shooting downwards, applying backspin etc. I saw a couple that were installed and it didn't take very long for them to start looking , less than presentable. It might not affect play that much and they are seeing a lot of use. i could check with a blacklight, I never bought them and wasn't involved with the purchase. maybe some are less susceptible to this sort of thing.
