Same thing happened to me. Roll was from after flood and they skipped the 3rd stage of the processing, which resulted in the fuzzing.I just heard back from Alfred at Simonis. Turns out my cloth was from a defective roll (id’d from the serial number visible under black light), and they’re going to replace it at no charge.![]()
ok thanks. I went out and bought a black lite and there is no numbers or leltters on the surface of the cloth. Does that mean I have a bootleg cloth that some ebay dealer is swindling people with?Telephone. Main number on their website.
The logo and serial number is fairly small (maybe 3" long and 5/8" tall), and is printed only every 3 ft or so, so there may be only 2-3 visible on the entire table. Still, in a darkened room with a UV flashlight, they should jump out at you.ok thanks. I went out and bought a black lite and there is no numbers or leltters on the surface of the cloth. Thanks, I install my own and others over the last 60 years and I never would install upside down! I'm gunna try the black light again tonight when its dark, since you said how small the numbers are,The logo and serial number is fairly small (maybe 3" long and 5/8" tall), and is printed only every 3 ft or so, so there may be only 2-3 visible on the entire table. That said, if you're sure there are none on your cloth, then either a) you don't have Simonis cloth (no surprise if a smaller ebay seller), or b) the installer put it on upside-down (which would explain having lots of fuzz).
That is one beautiful setup you have there, if thats you with the Centennial table!Telephone. Main number on their website.
Yep, that's mine. Thanks! That is one beautiful setup you have there, if thats you with the Centennial table!
No, it shouldn’t be that fuzzy. Lots of good info in this thread if you want to try to get them to send a free replacement. First step is UV light to confirm it’s Simonis, on right side up, and get the serial number.Alright so now I'm feeling like mine may have a similar issue but to be honest this is my first pool table and I'm not exactly sure how it should look. I installed Simonis 860 last year and this is how it looks right now. I play around 5-10 hours per week. I don't brush the table, just vacuum it every week or so depending on how much I use it.
This is how it currently looks. I had to use a flashlight to show how it really looks since without it the cloth looks perfectly fine. Should it be this fuzzy? Thanks for your help!
Thanks. It is indeed original (I've checked with the UV light and there's a serial # on it). I guess I'll have to call Simonis to get this sorted out.No, it shouldn’t be that fuzzy. Makes you wonder how many hundreds or thousands of tables are out there right now with defective Simonis.AZBilliards, home of the 'Fuzz Fuzz'.Good job folks.
It's very concerning. Simonis is the gold standard and their product isn't cheap. Even if you get a new cloth for free the installation is in the hundreds of dollars.Makes you wonder how many hundreds or thousands of tables are out there right now with defective Simonis.
