Best,

That's hilarious, the first thing I read was "before 1968 San Jose was known for prunes"

I wondered what SJD's "real secret" was, now I know. :D

I must have missed this clever quip, but I shall address it now !..Yes Mr Wi-ley, when I first moved to San Jose, (in 1955) the population was about 200,000...And yes, the natives were refered to, as "prune pickers" (though they were actually plums)

Please note;

World English Dictionary
prune (pruːn) noun
1. a purplish-black partially dried fruit of any of several varieties of plum tree
2. slang ; (chiefly British) a dull, uninteresting, or foolish person.
3. from Old French prune, from Latin prūnum plum, from Greek prounon

I will accept definition #1..That leaves you with #2 (the British slang, which seems VERY appropriate :sorry:)

Nowadays, San Jose is well over 1,200,000, and is home to Silicon Valley...Most of my offspring sill live there....All the plum orchards are gone, and the native's are now called "techies"...But you knew that, or did you mis-google ???,

PS..I would avail myself of your latest offering, (ie; media blitz) but I have had enough of Mr Strickland to last two lifetimes ! :boring2: :boring2:

Mr. SJD,

If you want CJ to see & reply to this post you must include "two-foul 9 Ball" in it. If you do he'll reply quickly and without delay (redundant?). Otherwise he may wait until he has something else to sell.

you can "tickle the ivories" in more ways than one

ironically, i have this sheet music. i have now tied it to pool directly.
thank you again, PT109.

So you can "tickle the ivories" in more ways than one? Which is better, your piano game, or your pool game? ;)

He used to always show up at the main pool room when they were doing concerts.

By the way, Mark Kendall the lead singer of Great White, is a damn good pool player! Did you know that?

I've played Mark several times, Jay. He used to always show up at the main pool room when they were doing concerts. After that tragic fire at one of their concerts I haven't seen him since.......I used to give him the 6/7/8/9 for $10 or $20 a game, and we both had a good time although I may be up a "game or two". ;)

seriously?
MarkGW holds the KEY to my Angel Song?
(and more importantly Jay - HOW do you even know what THE ANGEL SONG is?)
he can shoot?

;)

.he plays almost as well as Joe Rogan.

Yes, he can run a rack on a 9' table...he plays almost as well as Joe Rogan.

I love The Rogan but I don't like his chances against the Great White Shark!

I don't think Joe gets a chance to play much. Hell, I think Jay would have a chance against him. :D Markgw posts here, I suspect he plays a bit more and has been clocked as close to A. From what I've seen on Joe, on limited youtube, he's a strong B. My money is on Great White!

TAR match undercard! That WOULD be pretty awesome. Race to 7 for who eats worms or bats. :D

Maybe I didn't get to see his "A" game.

Maybe Joe didn't keep up his game. He played pretty well back in the mid 90s, but I'm sure after FEAR FACTOR he lost his appetite for "green things"......Last time I played Mark was in my pool room in Dallas.....we also played at Hard Times in L.A. - Maybe I didn't get to see his "A" game. ;)

So you gave Mark the 6-up.
So what can you give Joe?

just trying to do the math here.

Mark's problem is his damn day job! If he just quit singing and strumming that guitar, his pool game would go through the roof!

I used to play Michael Ervin quite a bit in Dallas and one night........

Guys that play like Mark and Joe usually need the 5/7 and the break to have a legitimate chance to win 40/50% of the games.....it depends on the table and how they break if they can get enough opportunities to win.

I rarely take playing under these conditions as seriously as I might normally....usually it's all in fun.

I used to play Michael Ervin quite a bit in Dallas and one night he said "give me your best game, I don't want you to give me any chances"......about 15 games in a row later he was not a "happy camper"....sometimes people don't "real eyes" how they really stack up against a top player.
