Has anyone in Atlanta heard about the gas prices? A friend just called and told me it's up to almost $4 a gallon and people are filling up their tanks and gas cans up there. One station is even out of gas.

Any news?

I saw on the news today that it was going to go up today, so I went right out to fill up my truck. It was $2.59.9 per gallon for regular.....It cost me $70.00 to fill the truck up. Then I went home to get the car to fill it up also. It has to have the Hi-test stuff...which was $2.89.9 per gallon. By the time I got back to the station with my car, it was $2.99.9 per gallon...it went up 10 cents a gallon in 20 minutes! I just saw on the news where it's well over $3.00 a gallon now all over the Atlanta area.

What money are we talking about? I heard that he had done away with the $899 membership fee and lowered it to $1.

I hadn't heard that, but... I'm sure that you have to pay to get into the tournaments...there's that...but, to tell you the truth, I wouldn't even trust him with the $1.00. I don't have a real high opinion of Kevin Trudeau.

Has anyone noticed that it's usually the criminals that don't think criminal records should be held against you? Why is that, I wonder?

Land Shark77,

You quoted:
"I mean come on...the guy said he was going to use pool as a means to advertise his book....you know the one that has the cure for cancer in it."

In all fairness, have you read any part of his book? Out of curiosity, I did. And in the section where it gives advice for specific disease states, cancer specifically, on page 348, it states "If you have cancer you need to go to a licensed health-care practicioner!" For asthma he refers people to Paul Sorvino's asthma foundation (one of the best foundations for asthma).

Deno Andrews

No I haven't...but he SELLS it stating that he tells the cure for cancer. Flase advertisement??? Or scam??? I'm not dumb enough to buy it, but I am not someone who is at their last resort and desprete to believe.

When I was 12, every Friday I had to babysit 4 little boys ranging in age from 4 to 8 and my lil sis who was almost 2. I didn't get paid for this... my lil bro was one of the boys and the other 3 belonged to 2 different couples that were friends w/mom & stepdad. They went out drinking every Fri night & it was my job to watch all these kids for free. My older sister & I shared a room & we had cable tv & our own phone line.... My parents also had the playboy channel with our cable sub. :D Sooooo, I put all the boys on the couch and told them they could watch the playboy channel on 2 conditions... they SIT there & be good, and they weren't allowed to ever tell their parents. I would then take my lil sis to my room, watch MTV and talk on the phone. Everyone once in awhile I could hear the boys giggling. (I did this for MONTHS, not just once)

I almost went to jail once for hammering a philips head screw driver into the tire of a guys truck who had parked in my spot. (we had our own numbered spots) He was a cop & he was the one that busted me. :rolleyes:

I lost my DL when I was 19 for too many speeding tickets, got a ticket for driving under suspension, & just got a ticket last week for 85 in a 55. The difference between Marissa & I is that I'm a damn good driver. :D I've got a friend that's a police sargent who describes my driving habits like this.... "she drives like she's always coming out of turn 4".

I can't think of anything else to share right now... I've actually been a pretty good girl ;) besides, I've shared enough. :cool:

And your past is printed where?

I already told you..I DON'T have any criminal record....unless you want to count 2 speeding tickets and one ticket for an expired tag on a utility trailer in 37 year of driving. I've never been arrested for anything...came close once for getting into a fight, which I did not start (but I DID defend myself). I work every day and pay my taxes and have for 35 years. What else do you want to know?

If I DID have a criminal record, then I would expect at least that part of my life to be "printed" somewhere. That's part of the price for being a criminal.

C'mon sjm! Didn't you read "Angels and Demons" by Dan Brown?

Great read!!

Haven't read that, but I'm a very capable mathematician and math has always been a hobby of mine.

Actually, it's The DaVinci Code, but he forgot to include the zero. But that's the least of the mistakes he made. Great work of fiction, and I'm not being sarcastic about the biblical aspect of the plot.

The most notable errors:
the cameras in The Louvre are real;
the pyramid there is made of 698, not 666, panes of glass;
there's no such thing as a nanodrive;
it's not "Da Vinci", "it's da Vinci", his real name is Leonardo di ser Piero and he was from Vinci, and art scholars refer to him as Leonardo;
the Dead Sea Scrolls were found in 1947, not the 1950s...
and they weren't among the first Christian records - they're Jewish;
symbology isn't a word - it's symbolism - maybe he was thinking of iconography...
and there's no such thing as a symbologist;
it takes hours to die from a gunshot wound to the stomach, not fifteen minutes;
Madonna of the Rocks isn't five feet tall - it's at least six feet, without the frame;
the pentacle represents both male and female, not just the female;
Phi does not have any bearing on hives;
you can create way more than ninety-two words with the letters in the word "planets";
when Silas reads the bible in the French Cathedral in Paris, it's doubtful it would be in English;
the SmartCar's mileage is closer to 20km per liter than 100km per liter;
Architectural Digest has never done a feature on Opus Dei's headquarters;
papyrus doesn't dissolve in vinegar;
LoJack in France is called Traqueur;
France never banned the movie "The Last Temptation of Christ";
a runway attendant is called a marshaller in England;
Alexander Pope never presided over Sir Isaac Newton's funeral;
Mona Lisa is not an anagram for Amon Isis - Leonardo didn't even name his works of art;
and my favourite: The Priory of Sion is not a secret society founded to protect Jesus and Mary Magdalene's bloodline. The "hidden documents" that were discovered by Pierre Plantard, and coincidentally listed his family's name as part of that bloodline, were later proven to be forgeries and Plantard was sentenced to prison.

Now it's time for me to go to bed! :p
