LIKE OUR DISCUSSION IN VF WHERE YOU TOLD ME ABOUT THE RECUTS ON THAT HALEY CUE, WHICH I THEN TOLD YOU WERE VENEERS, AND YOU CONTINUED TO DISAGREE WITH ME EVEN AFTER I INFORMED YOU THAT THE CUEMAKER TOLD ME THAT THEY WERE VENEERS. THAT GAVE ME A PRETTY GOOD IDEA OF HOW HARD IT IS FOR YOU TO ADMIT YOU ARE WRONG ABOUT EVEN THE SMALLEST THINGS. HAVE FUN WITH YOUR FEUD WITH JOE, I HAVE NO TIME FOR POINTLESS DISCUSSIONS....... I WASN'T EVEN GOING TO REPLY TO YOUR LAST POST, BUT AFTER YOU CHOSE TO INSULT MY INTELLIGENCE(WHICH YOU HAVE NO IDEA OF MY BACKGROUND, OR MY EDUCATION) I THOUGHT I SHOULD MENTION HERE OUR NICE DISCUSSION IN VF.
P.S. I WASN'T ATTEMPTING TO SPEAK FOR ANYONE, I WAS JUST CONVEYING A MESSAGE TO YOU, FROM MYSELF AND SEVERAL OTHERS THAT I HAVE SPOKE WITH.
Matt_24 said:Why would you use a the implied term "Helmstetter" as an insult (or did you know that it would annoy Marcus?)? I really like a lot of the fancy (what I'm guessing) one of a kind Helmstetter's I've seen. Beautiful work.

classiccues said:It was sarasm and a joke. But Marcus let Jimbo get to him to much for him to read it that way. Marcus and I know the joke.. its no big deal.

JimBo said:I couldn't agree more, I've been ignoring Joe since I *****ed him and his drunken lying cheat of a boss out at VF, but I guess he felt he wasn't getting the attention he deserved so he had to try and start it back up. Turns out I'm not real good at keeping quiet so when he opened the door here I walked in. I don't have lots of time to play with Joe right now so I am pretty sure you (and the millions you speak for) have little to worry about, put your policeman's hat back in the closet and relax Marcus.

JimBo said:The Joke is you Joe, it was you when you posted that I hide behind my monitor and it was you when I came to your bosses booth at VF. You are the Joke, and many here know how much of a poser you are and anyone in ear shot at VF found out what a real Clown you were. You tried to call me out for nothing and when I pointed out that you had no clue you tried to drag your boss into it. By dragging Mark in you made him look like a clown and exposed him for the drunk that he is, it was great to be so right that I could just stand there and laugh at him yelling and overreacting and then trying to have me removed for nothing LOL, you guys really made my weekend fun, thanks Joe.

classiccues said:ROTFLMAO you came around, made ridiculous accusations as you always do and almost got das boot. Proving as usual, you're still an idiot. BTW more accusations you have ZERO basis for. You need to give it up, unless of course you have some proof to put forward.

This thread of Lisa's about a beautiful cue has been wrecked.
Lisa, please accept my appologies for this.

This was my first experience with ordering directly from the cuemaker. It was a great experience! I was pretty involved with the design process, but I am kinda 'hands on' that way.
For those of you who are currently getting a cue made, or on a waiting list to have one made......I encourage you to get involved in the design process of your cue. And that goes beyond choosing what woods will be used. Make that cue uniquely your own. I would have to think that a cuemaker gets bored doing the same old thing over and over again. When you something just a little different, I bet it just gets those creative juices flowing. I know that when I was making highend, collectible mohair and alpaca bears, I would get bored to tears doing the same bear over and over again!
Besides, it's really fun to see your vision come to fruition!!! And then we get to see so much more of one's personality reflected in so many different cues!!
I guess what I am trying to convey, in a longwinded way...LOL...is, it's YOUR cue.....have fun with it!!

OK FRED, SINCE YOU WANT TO CHIME IN. THAT IS NOT HOW I REMEMBER THE CONVERSATON. I SHOWED THE CUE TO JIM, WE WERE TALKING ABOUT THE CUE. HE MENTIONED ABOUT THE RECUTS, AND I SAID NO THEY WERE VENEERS. HE SAID NO THEY AREN'T THEIR RECUTS. HE EVEN WENT SO FAR AS TO CALL MURRAY OVER AND ASK HIM, AT WHICH POINT MURRAY INFORMED BOTH OF YOU THAT THEY WERE VENEERS. MY POINT ABOUT THAT IS, HE COULDN'T EVEN ADMIT TO BEING WRONG, EVEN AFTER I INFORMED HIM THAT THE CUEMAKERS TOLD ME THEY WERE VENEERS.Cornerman said:Wow. Interesting that I was right there, I was the one who said it looked like a recut. I don't remember any debate or argument. I said the word "recut." You said that the cuemaker said it was a recut. I said it looked like a recut, looked at it impressively, and that was that. I had no idea there was a debate or even a disagreement. I'm sorry if you felt there was one.
If anyone cares, the cue was a multi-veneer (double, maybe triple?) of the same wood that was executed so well, it looked like a recut. Hence, "it looks like a recut." Those Haley cues are as perfect as I've ever seen. Ron Haley and his wife are wonderful people. They had four or so cues floating around with similar recut-looking veneer work, and I had a great time talking to Ron about his work. I tried to get some of the photos of his cues in the magazine, but I don't know if that happened.
