Slate bolts

Everything is level,but when I tighten the slate bolts down,the slate goes down 5 /100 th. at the edges.Wondering if I`am overtightning or what? thanks.

Has a lot to do with what kind of table you're talking about buddy...I have no idea:wink:

Also can depend on where the wedges are placed under the slate, and you can have a little bow in your rails.

If you mean slate screws then try starting a bit high to compensate for the tightening. If you glue the seams you only need to tighten screws snugg. If you over tighten you will probably strip them out.

If you mean the seams are changing when you tighten rail bolts. Then you should take everything off and glue seams to keep that from ever happening.

Everything is 100 percent level,when the bolts are tightened the outer edges are out 5/ 100th but perfect every where.What do I use for glue and what process?

Sounds like you're leveling before snugging down the slate screws. Snug the screws first then start leveling. Loosen slate screw and shim as needed then resnug the screw and recheck level as you go..
