Slow Rolling Question

As some of you read on the 106 Breaks & 7 Chances thread I attempted to slow roll the 6B up about 8-10 inches the other night and missed it to the right.

So, tonight, I attempted a drill for slow rolling as shown in the diagram above. And every time I tried to slow roll the CB through the 3B and 1B the CB went to the left. Every time. The only time I got the CB through was when I made a conscious effort to aim to the right.

Thoughts?

Do you have any issues with your break?

Aim to the right. Or fix the table.

You need to be down on the stick for this. Leave out the follow through and just tap the ball (dead center of course) with enough speed to get there. Keep your eye on the cue ball and pay attention for any deviation in line. If not, it's your follow through.

You're practicing something that doesn't come up.
If you were practicing where you hit the ball from the kitchen to the other end and have it touch your tip, then that is an actual helpful drill, passing between 2 balls = not worth the time.

There is a short video from Dr Dave billiards called cut induced throw on YouTube, I tried to send you a link but it wouldn't let me, just Google it and it should take you right there, if you haven't seen any of his videos you are in for a treat.

This drill will lie to you unless you put 2 balls, 1 on each side of your target, the center diamond, about 1/4" bigger than the cueball frozen to the rail, if the either frozen ball moves you are not hitting the cueball dead center or your stroke isn't straight, I had this same problem, I had to learn what MY vision center was, you will correct stroke flaws faster by taking some lessons from a PBIA instructor.

My thoughts are: set up a video camera, record, evaluate or have a coach evaluate, then throw the (table, cue, camera, and advice in the incinerator)

What would the follow thru have to do with the cue ball not going straight??

a) your table is not level
b) your stroke is not aimed along the line you think it is
c) your stroke makes contact with CB other than where you think it does

Did the ball roll straight? You forgot to mention that critical point.

Yes, but as it slowly got closer and closer to the corner pocket it just seemed to want to drift/roll off to the left a little. Having said this, I've heard Grady Mathews and Bill Incardona talk about the CB rolling off on Accu-Stats videos before.

And MitchAlsup:
1) The table is level
2) Possibly
3) Possibly

Lordy, bro, that's literally the definition of not rolling straight or rolling off. Either your table is not level or you should turn the fan down.

Or, possibly the cue ball is out of round, but in that case it would roll to both the right and left apparently randomly.
