Smoke in my Pool Case

I know this topic has been done before but I cant be bothered to search for it so im starting a thread.

Bought a pro series pool case (2 butts 4 shafts) at the pawn shop today for 10 bucks. Not to bad since my case is falling apart and I need a temp case so I thought this would fit the bill.

Well this particular pawn shop is filled with cigarette smoke due to their lazy fat employees. Its beyond me that the owner would allow smoking due to it affecting the merchandise by getting stank all over it :angry:

It didnt even cross my mind that the case would smell like it (on the inside) until my daughter pointed out that it stunk. Hell all i thought was a case for 10 bucks!!! Why not no brainer right?? :rolleyes:

I really would like to use the case, as its in pretty good shape, but I dont want my beautiful custom cues to get that smell on them. Any ideas on how to take care of this problem or is it better to just junk or resell the case to a smoking league banger??? Thank you to all in advance with any info :)
 
Jesse...How about strapping it to the top of your car, with the lid open, and tearing down the highway for a while. That might help to air it out. Also, another thought is to spray the inside with Febreeze. It's a great odor killer, and won't hurt the fabric inside the case.

Spray it with Febreeze. Or however you spell it.

The Pro Series nylon cases are tough little buggers.
10 is a good deal.
 
u would think a cue case at a pawn shop would smell like smoke even if the pawn shop workers didn't smoke since most pool rooms used to and still allow smoking. $10? u sure expect alot for your money?

Other "odor-eaters" are baking soda, vinegar and a product called "Ozium". Be careful not to get the baking soda or vinegar on your cues, and do NOT combine them. Use them as another poster suggested with the coffee grounds. You can spray the Ozium right on and in the case, it evaporates.
