Smokefree Wisconsin

I haven't been in a pool room going on 5 months now. I couldn't stand the smoke anymore. But there is good news. The Governor has signed into law a bill banning smoking in public places. But there is bad news. It doesn't take effect until August 2010. I'll be 84 by that time, but I hope to still be playing pool.

Dave, bummer they took so long to get their act together. I hope you get a chance to enjoy it. It makes a world of difference. Our state's been that way for a while now, and it's a good thing.

My state just went smoke free this year. I sure like it. I don't have any problem with smoking but I don't see a huge problem with walking outside to do so. Just my 2 cents.

Sweet, I might actually consider moving home sometime after that!

You know Wauwatosa and a few other 'burbs banned it a while ago, right? I also heard they were going to try to enforce it by July of next year...it's only a month difference, but either way....

Dave: The Illinois Billiard Club has been smoke free since I joined. Red Shoes changed with the rest of Illinois a year or so ago and it is nice not to have to breathe clouds of cancer.

I am a smoker myself, and we have a public ban on smoking in Eau Claire.. Alot of bars inside of Eau claire were hurt as people started going outside of the city for there drinking .. I am not put off from it.. I have no issue with going outside.. and there are still a few bars that got approval to have smoking indoors..
I dont know if that will still be active after the state ban or not??

My state went smoke-free last year (except for the casino's if you can believe that) and its been so nice to be able to go to the pool room for an evening and not come home with a sore throat & reeking of smoke. I can take my daughter with me now too. I've noticed a lot more family activity in the pool rooms.

I remember the days when I would take a wiff of my clothes the next morning & be knocked out by the stench.
