Anyone got any? would love to see either, and wonder at cost of snakewood sneaky. TIA

pretty sure you 're not going to see a snake wood sneaky. too expensive, too unstable. too much to go wrong. Schmelke makes a blood wood sneaky

snakewood is very heavy. should be cored and aut 125-150$ 1.5x1.5x18'' square. ive been turned down by a cuemaker to make a cue bc its expensive and hard to work with. before i made cues myself

Yeah I asked for a snakewood sneaky once also and was flat out turned down. He finally said "well maybe if you're willing to spend $2000 or so." Sigh, such a pretty wood, too...

The bottom cue is bloodwood:

A simple sneaky...yet one of my favorite cues you've ever done. Bloodwood's beautiful...BEAUTIFUL stuff. And that there is one damned fine piece of bloodwood. I've got a cue come from Scott Gracio that's bloodwood into 5E birdseye maple...ivory, hoppe style buttcap and ivory joint. Will post pics when she comes in.

You can make a cue like that for me...any time between now and the time you quit building cues. I'd pay whatever.

Pat Diveney built a snakewood full-splice cue a while back. I fell in love with the cue, but I had to pass...$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

If Scott needs some red bloodwood for your cue, let me know. I searched every known supplier & then a dozen or so less known suppliers to find the true blood red bloodwood, and bought every bit of it when I found it. Most bloodwood is kinda orange with deep hughes that give a red appearance, but not mine :) Once I got all my wood in, the supplier called me right back to whine about me buying all of it because now they can not find anything that's actually red to replace their stock. The stuff they sold me was very old stock from two generations before he took over the business. He sold it all to me not knowing what a gem he had.

One of the most stable woods.
Hit pretty sporty too. Pings like purpleheart but threads much better.
I have dozens made for coring dowels for handles.
The cheaper ones are yellowish and do not have the same tone as the deep red ones. Not quite as stable as well. The red ones even off-grain stay straighter.

All mine is straight grain & boring, except the vibrant red color.

Just saw this in the sticky at the top of the forum:

Snakewood as a forearm or handle in a plain jain is one thing. Full splicing the stuff is an entirely different animal. I've never seen the stuff in a full splice. I imagine it's an unpleasant prospect as best for a cuemaker to embark on such an ambitious endeavor.
