So what is the best brand for a sneaky pete? i had a mueller and loved it but the shaft got messed up so i got another one. I don't like the second one i got at all. I was going to have a second shaft made for my first but they way the second one shoots, i thought maybe i should invest my money in another brand. So any advice or opinions would be great.

My thoughts ...

I played with a Huebler Sneaky Pete for 19 years, and loved it.
The shaft got worn down some, and I used to be teased that
when I broke the balls that I looked like I was playing archery
more than Pool because of how much my cue bowed.
I currently have a Sneaky Pete from Shurtz Custom Cues, and
also love it. It has better balance and feel, and a custom
Sneaky Pete can play like a cue costing hundreds more.

I would say find you a custom cuemaker that makes good
Sneaky Pete's, visit his shop if you can, and he most likely
will have some you can stroke for balance and feel. Luckily,
Shurtz is in my town, so I can go check out cues there whenever
I want to. Custom Sneakies can be a hidden bargain for you.

I think Huebler makes one of the better sneaky petes. I picked mine up a few years ago for $200 new. Great value for the cue.

There's a Little Al Romero sneaky pete in the "for sale" forum...great deal on a great, super hitting cue and case for $185 shipped.

I've got a Predator with Z shaft, an Action, a Dale
Perry Speedster, a conversion sp, and a Leonard
Bludstone. The best hitting one is the Blud, definitely.

i bought a tim scruggs sneaky couple of months ago and love it. hits n plays great. phillippi also makes great sneakies.

Scruggs if you can find one. In a new cue I'd go with Bob Dzuricky at www.dzcues.com

Great hitting, Great communication when you buy from him, very good price. I personally like how his sneaky hits better than any of the scruggs sneakys I've owned (7 scruggs now if my memory is correct).

Scruggs offer great hit with a better resale value is the only reason I even add those in to this post.

hmm those are all very nice SP's but most have butt collars and i want it to look just like a bar cue, that is my i got muellers SP, around my area i don't have many cue makers, in fact i think there may only be one in iowa. viking and mooches all have their damn logo and other facy things on their SP and that isn't what i want at all. thanks for the help and opinions but not quite what i'm looking for yet.

Buy an Axiom. They cost about $45 but it is a jump break and it hits about as good as any sneaky pete cue I have played with both custom and production.

showcase cues had the best sneaky pete i ever hit with and it had no ring or caps. i dunno if they still make it like that tho. check it out.

has anyone heard of a cue maker from around Boone, Iowa? i'm not quite sure on the name.

Bob Owen of Shurtz's Custom Cues makes a wood-to-wood
Sneaky Pete that looks just like a bar cue.

go to
Shurtz Custom Cues
