pearls for swine with that audience... but it is a surprising stat. i guess he hasn't played much lately and has been selective in what tournaments he plays the last couple of years, but still it's surprising.

Well, the people there did show up, but it's surprising that there are only about 50 in the audience.
 
Why is it surprising? The people there don’t give a shit about these events. They sponsor these events to attempt to shift the narrative about who they are as a country. Same reason they started a golf league or pay Christiano Rinaldo hundreds of millions of dollars to play soccer there.

The thing is, there are like five snooker/pool clubs in the city. You would think that some of their customers would go watch.

In any case, Ronnie has some more frames to get a third. 🤪

In his semi match, Neil didn’t play well enough to get to three on Ronnie….but tomorrow is another day.

If Ronnie wins the Saudi Arabia Masters, he will take home $813,300 (£600,000).

Right now, if he loses, he's guaranteed $406,500 (£300,000).

The total purse of the Saudi Arabia masters is $3,120,321 (£2,302,000) total purse.

As an aside, this year's U.S. Open in tennis is set for a total $1 billion purse: The men's and women's singles champions at the 2025 U.S. Open will each take home $5 million, up 39% from the $3.6 million awarded in 2024, making it the largest winning payout in the sport.

Let's hope pool be on the rise in payouts as well in the coming years. We've got the Saudi Arabia World Championship with a $500,000 total purse, which is a great start.
