This is a disgrace, but has a lot more to do with a room full of douchebags and less to do with the gambling on pool. Put these assclowns in any room late at night and you'd get the same behavior regardless of the game being played.
I'm nostalgic for the time when pool was social, gambling was a way of trial by fire, and the old guys commanded respect with their cue and not their mouth.

I've seen this before, most of us here have. I'm not sure what it is you guys are on about, sure, there are idiots around every tournament. There are jerks in every pool room. So what?
Some of the funniest stuff I've ever seen in the pool world happened after a major tournament was over for the day. I remember sitting in the stands with Mike Zuglan watching, if memory serves, Grady, Billy, Bucky Bell, Weenie Beeny, and I can't even remember who else, trying to make games. Mike and I both were rolling and Mike had seen it all before, a hundred times. It depends on the participants, I guess.

I was there at Derby when this happened and this is what happens all the time. You call them assclowns, but Deathball beats high, gambles all the time and beats his own money. Without guys like him that will back games or play, there is no gamble.
Its easy to call people out, but if your not a action guy, its hard to understand where the action comes from.

You can have great action without having douchebags like Scooter be a part of it. I was there too, and I saw several other players in action who did not act or talk like Scooter did.

Just because they bet doesn't make them not assclowns. I like to gamble and bet what i can, but i try to avoid assclowns and don't mind blowing off a few bucks just to be done with them. Chatter and trash talk is all good, but when you have "gamblers" that spend more time flapping their gums acting all stupid and not playing, they're just there for easy games and most of the time aren't in a game at all - that's closer to hustling than it is gambling. I've seen the area "gamblers" do the same sort of thing and ended up sleeping in chairs, while i was getting a game. They're also the ones that airbarrel. From what I've seen and heard, real hustlers keep it low and real gamblers keep in action. In this video, they did neither.
I'm all for woofing and whatnot but don't go acting like Deathball has ANY heart at all. The man plays pretty sporty and acts like he cannot beat the 4 ball ghost...
What chaps my ass more is people coming right out of the blue and posting on the Main Forum that someone is a douchebag or Ass Clowns without any provocation. Yet will be quick to point out an "Ad Hominem" so called attack.

Ive beat Deathball out a good chunk twice in Atlanta, he beat me in Cali, we beat high, so he will get up there. Yea he wants the best of it every time he plays, but who doesn't anymore???

I have seen lots of barking and no play and I have seen guys walk right in and play the first guy that ask them, either way so long as theres action im in.
Gambling is not about etiquette, never has been, its about action and getting it comes in lots of forms like it or not.

I never claimed taking any high roads at all. The provocation for me calling them douchebags is that they are acting like douchebags.
Maybe it's all part of the game as some seem to think - I disagree. I've seen action tables, local gambling and hustling in different forms but 35 minutes of carrying on like this - all on a public stream is necessary to get some action in the action room?
Without pool on mainstream television much, online streams are becoming the face of the sport - this is not how I want it represented, regardless of whether it is effective woofing or not.
Don't even get me started on the commentators calling people 'retards' and making fake black-guy voices either...

I think a game starts somewhere around the 35-minute mark. Can't remember if a ball is even made before Scooter offers to buy out and the guy declines and the game stops. Towards the end, a young kid and a girl are just playing for fun, i think.
