So Why Do I Find Myself Looking at Meuccis?

I am happy with my CueTecs. New Cynergy shaft is nice. I have other cues. Cues I don’t play with. Had a Meucci in the ‘80’s and had to sell it. Some at the pool hall made fun of it then for the plastic joint and soft hit. I have read the threads over the years about quality. I have seen there is hope with new ownership. So why do I find myself looking at the new issue HOF cues or the casino ones? With a Pro shaft or cf one. Why would I buy another production cue? Don’t talk me into it. 😛

Just being emotionally tied to something from your past. The favorite song you and your first love had in high school, then she dumps your ass. You spend months crying and praying for her to come back. Then you run into her 40 years later!
Now you thank God for unanswered prayers and the song sucks!! Woof! 🦴

Are these older ones that you have adjustable for weight bolts?

Yes, the block letter ones look like my old cues from that era that you could take the weight bolt out. I’m not about to try! The newer ones are glued in, but there’s room to add weight.

The newer ones are not glued in, they butts are threaded and the weights easily screw in or out and maintain position well so that you can shift the balance point a bit. I have numerous Meucci cues dating from the 80's and some brand new. All had removable weights, albiet different threads

Meucci cues were a big part of the pool scene in the 80s and 90s . Quality and playability had great variances.
As a player/ cue collector I think
That Meucci cues can play a part in one’s cache of cues. I own a few today from the 80s and 90s - they are well constructed, play just fine, and add a bit of nostalgia and remembrance to my cue collection - the Meucci oldie series with the SS joints - reproduced in the Meucci 95 series 95-17 and 95-19 are just really niceplaying and traditional looking cues IMO.
So , go ahead, buy one, they are just fun if you ignore all the negativity thrown at Meucci and his cues over the years. I own high end customs as well but my Meucci’s do have a place here too.
