On the topic of books, Robert Byrne's books taught me much more than anybody in person ever did.

Here are some articles which include discussions of aiming systems, including some analysis of how accurate they are likely to be. Dr. Dave Alciatore covers a whole bunch of systems on his website, here.Hello im new on here so im sure this has been talked of before but im just looking for some of the more popular aiming systems that i can practice myself, dvd or book or info on the comp, any info appreciated thanks for your time!
Just remember that in the end, you will have to depend on your own judgment in aiming because there is no system that is good for all shots under all conditions.
Amen, Mr Jewett! I'm an avid Pro One user, but it's pretty much a center of opening system, at least to the point that I use it. If I have to cheat a pocket or shoot to a half a pocket, then I have my own little things that I do.
As to the original post. I don't think any of the generally accepted aiming methods are BAD. Some are easier to visualize than others... and what might be easy for ME to visualize may not be easy for YOU to visualize.
Most important... have fun with the game. Even though the tournament and match play can be intense, you still just have to have fun with it. Of course, if you're winning, it's a lot easier to have fun!
