Boy, there's some cheap ass's out there.

I sometimes have my shafts retapered, cleaned or have new tips installed and I'm amazed at the prices my cue guy's want to charge.

Usually in my opinion it's way to low. I always pay an extra 10 or 20 dollars on top of the fee they want.

I'm really thankful that they have the talent to do the things they do.

To all you lucky guy's that are blessed with the ability to do what you do....................thank you !!!

tonight he says, he needs a new predator shaft and tells me that it HAS to be done for less than $150
i told him no way, of course
i said go buy one on ebay for $180
then he asks about a standard shaft and i told him $100 , just to get his reaction
the reaction was what i expected
he proceeded to tell me that the wood costs less than $10 and so forth
this guy cleans carpets for a living, so i told him to come clean my 5 rooms of carpet and it HAS to be done for the new standard shaft
oh my god, the tune sure did change then :rolleyes:
he won't be getting any shaft from me and i won't be getting my carpet cleaned ;)

When that type comes around, it take only a second or two to spot them and less time to run there ass off. Had one guy call me up and ask if I would ship him an empty box and tell UPS, that someone stole his cue for $2,500.00, he had no balls when It was reported to UPS, seems as if he had done simular things before, jerks are a dime a dozen..They make it hard on the rest of us. Run um off.....

Yes, he would of went to jail if I had followed his ORDERS, but I, would have nothing to do with it, UPS, said they would monitor him from there on. He lives in Woster, Mass.. another want-a-be, I look for his picture at the post office everytime I go there.

The sign I saw read,

The bitternes of poor quality lasts much longer than the sweetness of a cheap price.

The same shop had another sign next to it,
I you want it done right you have come to the Right Place. If you want it done cheap just go somewhere else. Management.

I used to get this all the time at shows. I used the same comeback, asking them if they would paint my house, fix my plumbing, etc.... for the same low price they were offering for my quality work.

One show I got so tired of the "you'll be cheaper on Sunday" line that I put up a sign on Sunday that said "Last Day +10%" People said what does that mean. I said today is the last day you can buy a case from me here at the show. After that you won't have this selection, you won't be able to see and touch this many varieties in one place, and you won't be able to talk to the maker about it. So for only a 10% premium you can get the case today, after that you'll have to spend more time and energy to get the case you should have gotten here.

Boy did that get them mad. I always told everyone that all my cases were sold to dealers after the show and they could go find them and bargain later.

I hate people who can't put a decent value on other people's work.
 
Just remembering

I was remembering that while I used to help my buddy do repairs, this guy walks in and asks for a ferrule to be put on his Moochie sneaky. My buddy says sure 35 bucks and this clown replies, "would it be cheaper if you reused the tip?" So eventually, my buddy put the ferrule and tip on for 30.

I think this is the sign.
