Some records

All very impressive to me - just great feats at the table by all who are mentioned in this document.

Our sport has done a terrible job of recordkeeping over the years. We'd all like to see that change. Of course, if pool ever becomes as big as snooker, it's likely that the record keeping in pool will start to rival that already in place in snooker.

We all remember Ronnie O'Sullivans 1,000th century break, and the most amazing thing to me was that somebody has the records to verify it. Imagine trying to figure out how many centuries have been run at straight pool in competition by the game's most elite players. It's almost inconceivable.

It looks great on my Kendal .

They did forget one record I know of it was fainting on American Wide World of Sports Frank McGowan was playing Steve Mizerak .
In 14 .1 straight pool they took turns playing safe and Frank left Steve with a long shot he'd have to stretch out to even think about making while under the bright live TV lights .
Steve was playing in one of his first big tournaments and with the pressure and bright lights fainted on the table !
I read about this long after Frank told me about it as we drove back to Billings Mt from a elk hunting trip .

No idea when they first noticed he was getting there but they were counting down centuries at events for awhile before he got to 1000. No doubt he would but when and where?

Not good at keeping up with what video each one happened in but two things I remember about Ronnie, he had eight points when he stopped a tournament to find out what a 147 paid then proceeded to shoot one. Twenty-five thousand pounds or euro's seems to be pretty common. Another time he knew they were paying "only" ten thousand for a 147. Purely to make a point he ran a 146, leaving one more 147 off of his record.
