Somebody left their cue at the poolhall.....

Lets hope so, it would be a shame other wise, but it does happen. Since I opened my pool room in 2004, I have had a number of high end cues along with cases, and many other items left by customers. To date I still have cues behind the counter that have never been claimed, a couple are McDermotts in the $150 to $300 price range and a number of other lower end cues. They will be here until they are claimed or I close or sell the business, being near a Military base you never know when a soldier had to deploy and will be back some day.

a friend of mine got orders and flat out forgot to pack his cue when he shipped his stuff. he was out like 600+

Reminds me of the guy who picked up a beautiful woman and brought her to a hotel. After they got the room, he offered to go down to the bar and pick up a bottle of wine.

She said sure, I'll take a shower while you're gone. He leaves, gets on the elevator, realizes he forgot his wallet and returns to the room only to find her wooden leg on the bed and she was in the shower. He starts looking over the leg and it falls apart on the bed.

Nervous, he leaves the room to go get the wine down at the bar. When he gets there he asks the bartender for a double shot of whiskey.

Looking troubled the guy sitting next to him says, "hey what's wrong buddy?"

He says, " I don't know what to do. I have a beautiful woman upstairs with her leg apart and I'm afraid to go back to the room."

The other guy says, " Ah, that's no problem, I've got a beautiful woman upstairs with BOTH legs apart and I can't remember the room number!"

A soldier comes back to your poolhall, looking for his cue that you've diligently held for him until his return ?

Just the idea of that makes my eyes water up.

So someone in the room has a Palmer and you don't know who it is? Seriously, you could take me to any pool room within a hundred mile radius of where I'm at right now and I could tell you which cue belongs to which player. More often than not I remember a person's cue before remembering their name.

i'm the same way. more so in Japan though. over here in the states everyone uses more similar cues. in my neck of the woods it's less custom and more lucasi, mcerdomott or production joss.

I've only done it once in my life. Luckily, the owner of the bar realized I had left it and put it behind the bar. I was a bit drunk after the match and I just walked out without it. Never happened before and hopefully, won't happen again.

The funny thing was. That case was holding my Sly worth over $2000, my Scruggs worth over $4000 and Sly and Varney J/B cues (4x8 case). Not to mention 2 dart sets and a bunch of accessories. But of course, the only thing some dip shit stole was my MVP Medallion off the side of the case. People are stupid and sometimes, I'm thankful for that because replacing those cues would be almost impossible here. Most people here think that a Predator is a custom cue of the highest value imaginable.

I left an early 70s Joss on a table after a tournament and left the pool room. Didnt notice i left it for 2 days. The waitress found it and said hey who owns this cue. Dennis Searing was standing there and says oh thats Daves cue, here ill take that and get it to him. I got very lucky there.

My buddy Ray left his case sitting next to a car and drove off. Realized later he has left it there in the parking lot and drove back. There was his Justis case with his cues in it laying on the asphalt! soooo lucky

I was at the Florida Amateur championship in Ultimate billiards recently and i was digging in my pocket to get my tip tapper and i dropped a 20 on the ground. I go off to play not even noticing. So i walk over to my case and this guy is standing there and says Hey did you drop a 20? and I go into my pocket and realize that yeah i did. He hands me the 20 and says be more careful next time. I just stopped dead in my tracks and told him that it was refreshing to find that some people are honest.

Then I was at the APA nationals recently standing next to the minimania booth waiting to signup. The Hustlin USA booth is there and they have girls underwear pinned to the outside of their cage. Higher up one of the underwears has a dollar stuck in the waist band. Im standing there and the guy in front of me dips out of line jumps up and grabs that $1. I said to him. what do you think your doing? he says, well hell I need it more than she does (pointing to the underwear). I told him...i think that was in the display bro...that was meant to be there. He got sheepish and said oh ok and went back and stuck it back into the display. Nothing like a lil public shaming i guess. Funny how some people will steal a $1 given the opportunity and others will give back a $1000 cue.
