woo hoo, I love this tournament! Can I put a vote in to keep it in Killeen? I like that it's in the center of the state.

Not this year

Is this Tourney coming to Houston...

Unfortunately this tournament was in Houston last year when it was called the Texas Open Players Tournament.

The decision was made to hold all of the 2008 stops in Harker Heights due to equal distance from all the big cities and a good deal on a venue that's conducive to a good tournament

Some people might remember that the first year of this tour was held in ballrooms of hotels like Grapevine, Houston, Amarillo...etc... This proved to be helpful to the players of those locations but was not a sound business decision based on the costs of doing tournaments at hotels.

This is just my opinion

Will you definitely have a seniors division? At the last one you decided not to. Thanks...

I think it might be a typo. On the entry form it says seniors, open and master women in one group. So, I assume all three are in the Open division.

I could be wrong, though.

Not 100% Sure

I AM NOT the tournament director, I just posted this because he is "Internet Challenged" :)

Are they going to have a Seniors Division? I'm sure they will IF they have ENOUGH entries to make it feasible.

If you only have 2 or 3 entries for it, then probably not.

PS.......Go with the text of this post for the correct info. Anyone looking at the flyer can tell he still has the entry deadline from his last tournament

This Poll Is For The Future

In case there is any confusion.....which is understandable.

This poll is to give the tournament directors an idea of what the players want to play.

The event in July already has a format and won't be changed.

JMO Eric.

I agree 3 man teams event would be cool. Can only play team events in state and nationals. And everyone that knows me, knows that I need help trying to win a match!!!!

I agree

I agreee Eric.

There were lots of people at state that asked if this tournament had anything besides Scotch for teams.

I think Robert will get a good idea by this poll of the interest level

This is hysterical! That's what happened to me in Vegas for BCA Nationals! I got 4th in scotch with Royce Bunnell and my women's team got 2nd! In singles, I was out in TWO. Count 'em - TWO! LOL  :D I obviously need all the help I can get, too. :)

Hi Melinda,

1. You don't always go 2 and out. Don't forget your triple dipper

2. I am the same way basically and I think I know why.
a. When I play singles, it's all me. If I lose because of dumb stuff I get frustrated and then I start to press.
b. With a team event, I play looser, more at ease because I know if I dog a ball or 2 my teammates will pick up my slack. I just play better in a team format.

3. 3 Person team?? Are you willing to audition :p

Yes

Keep this tournament in mind, lots of fun and good turnout

This is a great tournament! Diamond 7ft Smart Tables are brought in for this event. If you would like to take one home with you, give me a call to make arrangments.

FYI- I am looking at putting 6-8 Diamond 7fts in the Dallas area real soon!

Yeah Baby, Yeah Baby

I had to say this twice--cause I will be there for sure in Killeen. The SWAT (SouthWest Amateur Tournaments) are always a lot of fun and good competition. Just like mini-Nationals without all the slot machines and card tables.....

The second Yeah Baby is for BT's comment about 6-8 Diamond 7 fts. going up somewhere in the Dallas area. This is what we need to better prepare ourselves for Nationals. Hopefully the place (whereever this may be) will be available for league play because I'm sure it will get filled up fast.

Yippee....7 ft. Diamond tables. I am sooooo there!

1. Thank goodness, or I might give up this game!
2. I used to not play team events too well, but in the last few years that has changed.
3. Well.... NO!

James,

You are free to negotiate anything you like with Robert Tabor, but traditionally Ron Geyer has been at all of these events doing cue repair.
