IMHO Roy is free to run his business as he chooses. He has about 10-15 Southwest at any given time, and in not in business to play let switch money. Roy like most people in business do it to make a living, and play their way through life.
I have been in Roy's position when I had my photography business, deal with a photo editor, or assignment editor who had to have the right to use am image I owner, and wanted to pay next to nothing for the usage fee.
I heard all the sob stories about budget, they could only pay, etc., etc., etc., etc. Most of the time this was pure BS. But in the end it was a "fair price" or I simply said no, or hung up on the rude ones.
So if some one is wanting a Southwest Pool Cue now, whats to know who has the largest inventory, and they has to have it now because they can not wait 10 years. CLICK HERE, as this is the Place!
I have a 1997 nice Pau Ferro (Jerry Franklins Favorite Wood for his cues) with Birdseye points and three veneers. Also has the "Fancy" A & B Rings. Cue has been test hit only a few balls and is a monster player. Two brand new full shafts....sorry, no matching joint protectors and not ebony, but available for immediate shipment. Let me know if you have an interest!!!
Its hard to find a "Brand New" Southwest from 1997 like this one!!
Here are a couple of pic's. Also have a 1995 Franklin Era with two shafts Ivory ferrules. It is the cue in the picture next to the Pau Ferro cue.
Not mine but there is a 1995 Southwest Cocobolo with maple points on ebay new today....

My first southwest was a purpleheart nose, with ebony points; all the ringwork. Hit like a monster. My newest SW, the 9 point tulipwood/ebony in my avatar hits even a little bit better. Nam, you can't go wrong with either wood. Just speaking from experience. Good luck with your search. The wait is well worth it. Also, as you know, SW tends to make cues a little heavier. I was leary of this, but the cues are so well balanced, that the weight never seemed to hamper the feel/hit.
