That was my mindset in March of 2005...and 16 years later I have a new Southwest in my bag. No problem.
Sixteen years was wait, and did the price take off like rocket?
Do they have a web site? I can't see one on google.
The idea of being on a 15 year waiting list kind of appeals to me. Something to look forward to!
I wonder, if I plant a tree now, will they make one out of my own wood?

Here is the thing.....WHATEVER you pay for it, it's going to be immediately worth quite a bit more once finished and received. I didn't buy mine for that purpose (of flipping). Heck of a wait to score a few thousand dollars. So, really, the price is inconsequential. If necessary, beg or borrow when your name comes up and make it happen.
You're almost there! Mine was March of 2005.....and I got my cue in January of this year. Trust me - it'll be worth the wait. I love mine.
Hey, I get it! I look at the NEW cues and think, sheesh - how boring. Back in the day all of the best players had beautiful custom cues.....even the production cues were, for all practical purposes, custom and amazing. Now, everyone has a predator or cuetec...BORING. Ha!
What is special about the Southwest. Well.....when I received mine the entire quality just blew my mind. The quality of the wood. The amazing finish. The balance. The Hit. The quality of the shafts. They have a certain MOJO about them. Look at all of the best TAIWANESE players and their love for SW cues. These are cues you can use a lifetime, and they legitimately get better with age. I also say that about my 30 year old SCHON. I love it just as much, if not more, than my Southwest.
Yes, Laurie is an exceptional business woman who has been at the helm of this company for MANY years, and it only grows in popularity as it produces amazing cues.
Yes, she has perfected her system and it works for all parties involved, to a tee!
EDITED TO ADD that I'm on the list again in 2021....so......I'm going to guess by the time it's ready for creation the wait will be 22 years and I'll be 65. That's kind of cool.

How Laurie Frankln keeps the Southwest Cue a fine piece of work must be attributed to her late husband. He built perfection into his cues and his staff were taught to reflect the higest standards. She manages the company well. Ask the Ko brothers what cue they perfer playing with? I was fortunate to buy one used recently and will never sell it. Southwest cues have the three elements of a fine cue: They are: Hit like a ton, is user friendly and draws for miles.
You LITERALLY posted in another thread that you are ON the list, and you would be willing to sell your spot on the list....(I know, because I replied to your comment unfavorably).
Now you don't know how to contact Laurie? All anyone has to do is 15 seconds of research on Google to find their contact info.

Wasn't he posting the question of someone asking, "How does one get on the list?", by listing the phone number for SW Cues below it? It wasn't in quotes, which I found confusing, but after looking at it, I think Cowboy was posting the phone number below, so he does know how to get a hold of SW, at least that's how I read it now.
Yeah - I think he was replying to me. I Googled but all I could find were links to Pooldawg, some collectors, and other - figured they'd have a website. So thanks for the phone number. I called to check where I am on the list and to add my son

You can sell what you order, then get when built for profit.
