Southwest Cues Question......

Hi I'm new to AZBilliards, I have taken a likening to SouthWest Cues. I noticed that a lot of them are wrapless is that a trademark of SouthWest.

Actually, a very small % of them are wrapless. Just some lately that have been posted here are wrapless. Not sure on the stats but I would think 90%+ of their total production do have linen wraps. Some gorgeous cues coming out of the SW shop lately.

I would think closer to 95%+.

Jimmy Mataya had the first wrapless Southwest that I've seen. No, it's not a trade mark. I've seen very few over the years.
 
I also love the Southwest look, but alas .... I have champagne taste with a beer pocket book.

So ... for 500 bucks, I got all four of these Chinese knock offs, two shafts each, joint protectors, and free shipping. ( 85 bucks each, with 2 shafts each) ( I call em Far East cues)

They all came through with black wrap and I had the wrap changed. (40 bucks x4) That's what brought the price all the way up to 500 for all of them with the eight shafts.

I took the shafts, lengthened the taper to what I like 20 inch pro taper, put on Tiger Emerald tips, and they feel great.

The one I play with is the brown one. Curly Maple and Snakewood. I put them all in my 60 dollar Lucasi 4x8 case. Nice thin butts, nice balance, and adjustable weights. :thumbup: Works for me. :)

since ive never played with a southwest or your chinese knock off id guess the southwest plays better

Are they doing something different? I thought they were pretty much all the same except the woods.
